Tedious lessons 2

Aria's pov

My first class was etiquette. The instructor took one look at me as I walked through the door and huffed. Mumbling something about a lost cause as I stood there unsure if I wanted to let it slide or take it like I was meant to.

She glanced at me and saw me still standing there, she glared.

"Your highness, standing there won't make us start sooner."

"Mumbling to yourself and insulting me to my face won't either," I said firmly.

Her lips pressed into a thin line, unimpressed that I had talked back to her. I am sure it's not something I was supposed to do.

She jumped when I moved and headed to the board, I made myself comfortable and just relaxed as she prattled on, writing occasionally on the board.

As I sat there, the words on the board seemed to blur together, my mind wandering to more interesting places that I would rather be than here.
