Volume 1, Chapter 25 – I’ve Already Thought Of The Ending

As Song Shiyuan was the heroine of her own story, Lu Zhuxin knows her inside and out.

Lu Zhuxin understands Song Shiyuan's temperament and the vulnerabilities woven into her personality.

It's this exact insight that allowed Lu Zhuxin to successfully ensnare the girl in her trap.

Song Shiyuan is kind-hearted. She feels sympathy for the weak and pitiful fox demon. Yet, she is not naive. Even when she acknowledges the little fox demon's innocence, a degree of doubt lingers in her mind.

Her frankness and strong sense of responsibility mean she can't stand by while the little fox demon is bullied.

Nor could she abandon the little fox demon to her suffering, especially since she was responsible for it.

But she isn't a saint either. Once Song Shiyuan recognizes the little fox demon's value, she will use her for her own ends. However, she plans to compensate for this use in her own way later.

This is the Song Shiyuan that Lu Zhuxin understands: a straightforward, kind, and responsible little junior sister.

What if she discovered that the weak and helpless little fox demon, due to her selfish manipulation, "accidentally" became pregnant with her child?

What would she do?

Already Lu Zhuxin can envision how such a revelation would shatter Song Shiyuan's worldview.

The barriers of gender between women?

The forbidden romance with a fox demon, strictly prohibited by sect rules?

A young girl's innocent longing for her brother?

What do those concerns matter?

Hee hee~~

Lu Zhuxin could easily wield this "non-existent" child to control Song Shiyuan.

She could break down her defenses, dismantle her walls of rejection, and draw closer and closer to her.

She could even demand that Song Shiyuan marry the little fox, becoming Dao companions.

With Song Shiyuan's loyalty to her emotions, if Lu Zhuxin reaches that point, any youthful admiration for Song Shixuan will long since fade away.

Even if Song Shiyuan grows suspicious of the little fox demon because of this child, Lu Zhuxin could deftly shift the blame to an accident.

In her narrative, the fox demon is akin to an Omega—fragile and easily susceptible to pregnancy.

Hehehe~~

Lu Zhuxin chuckled inwardly, thoroughly pleased with her carefully crafted script.

"System! System!"

"I feel like I'm the vicious female supporting character from those old-fashioned romance novels!"

[Host, you haven't actually reached your estrus period, and you can't possibly get pregnant with her child. Such a lie will eventually be exposed.]

"Expose the lie? Why should I worry about that?" Lu Zhuxin chuckled at the system's concerns.

"All I need is to make Song Shiyuan believe that her own action had led to a little fox demon getting pregnant with her child."

"Given Song Shiyuan's personality, she won't be able to dodge responsibility."

"And about that pregnancy lie? You're mistaken—it's foolproof."

"The little fox demon can easily be said to have gotten pregnant from an 'accident' and just as easily 'lose' the child through another 'accident.'"

[You've even mapped out the ending for her?]

Lu Zhuxin smiled. "Have you heard the saying?"

"The childhood sweetheart can't compete with the sudden arrival, and the sudden arrival can't overshadow the unattainable white moonlight1."

"But what's even more powerful than white moonlight? A dead white moonlight."

"I'll ensure that innocent little fox demon remains forever etched in Song Shiyuan's most cherished memories."

Hee hee.

"Once the little fox demon completes her mission, I'll introduce the Fox Monarch. I'll pin the blame of having an impure mind and committing crimes in the Fox Palace on Song Shiyuan, toss her out, and then I can merrily move on to conquer the next heroine."

[A smooth and seamless combo move, as expected of you.]

The system was left speechless. It hadn't anticipated that the host would devise such a cunning escape plan in just one night.

[But host, will it really go as smoothly as you think?]

"This method, is it really effective?" Song Shiyuan frowned.

The idea of using a pure yang sword practitioner to form a pure yang mark in a fox demon's body during her estrus period was foreign to her.

And tonight, for reasons unknown, an unsettling feeling gnawed at her.

"Sister Shiyuan… maybe we should just forget it."

The little fox demon looked up, a faint smile gracing her lips.

Yet that smile, at this moment, looked forced no matter how you looked at it.

"Ah Xi hasn't seen anyone use this method before, so Ah Xi can't guarantee there won't be any problems."

"Sister seems very troubled. Ah Xi doesn't want sister to feel so uncomfortable."

"Ah Xi is fine…"

"Sister, go out, please. Let Ah Xi be alone for a while."

Song Shiyuan noticed the disappointment lurking in the little fox's eyes, despite her insistence that everything was okay.

That disappointment fell into Song Shiyuan's heart like a blot of ink, spreading and darkening her thoughts.

This feeling… was unbearable.

"Little fox…"

"I said I would help you."

Song Shiyuan settled beside the bed.

The closer she got, the more the sweet scent enveloped her.

The stronger the scent, the hotter Song Shiyuan felt.

The little fox was probably enduring the same pain.

But all the fox had done was steal a gentle peck on Song Shiyuan's lips.

Her gaze drifted to the little fox's slender wrist, delicate and pale.

Yet now, those tender wrists bore marks, bruised and bloodied from her own bites.

The crimson stains sent stinging pain through Song Shiyuan.

What are you hesitating about?

A voice within her stirred.

This child has already endured so much for you. Can you really abandon her? How can you be so selfish and ruthless, just because she's a fox demon?

…It's not like that.

Is it because she is a fox demon that you think you can use her at will? When trouble arises, will you simply cast her aside?

No… it's not because of that.

Song Shiyuan, what are you doubting? What is it that makes you so uneasy?

"…"

"Sister Shiyuan?" The little fox demon tilted her head, confusion etched on her delicate features. She seemed taken aback by the sudden silence enveloping them.

Song Shiyuan didn't reply. Instead, she steeled herself and reached out, gently pulling the little fox's sleeve to cover the bright red wound marring her otherwise pristine wrist.

This way, she wouldn't have to see the wound that stung her heart like a sharp blade.

"Little fox, before anything else, I have a question." Song Shiyuan's lips parted, dry and hesitant.

The air was thick with the fox demon's alluring pheromones, each breath challenging her rationality. The raw, carnal instincts clawed at her thoughts, urging her toward reckless decisions.

But she knew she had to remain composed, to keep herself from crossing a line she couldn't uncross.

She needed answers. Doubts about tonight's events still clouded her mind.

"This is your first estrus period, right?"

"You—how do you know so much about the methods sword practitioners use to soothe the desires of fox demons during their estrus?"

Song Shiyuan extended a finger, gently pressing against the little fox demon's neck. Just enough pressure to make her meet her gaze.

"Don't think, just answer."

Sister, maybe could you please move your finger from my carotid artery first?
