I am the one who will 'Remain'

Chapter 19

Inside the core, Ark was getting closer and closer to the end of the patch. "I think in about half an hour I will be done here."

While walking, Ark sees that the patch of red and black is starting to concentrate on a spot a few kilometers in front of him. He knows he has just found the cores, so he starts to walk a little bit faster in that direction, while cleansing the patch behind him.

He also needs to watch his speed, not to go too fast, because then he will miss small spots of corruption that later could cause problems in the making of the 'Body'. But now with the goal in sight, he knows most of the fight is already won. Because when he gets outside, he will show the devils the meaning of 'Despair'.

Outside, Zmaug is looking at the others and smiling. He gets into the position for throwing the spear and says:

"My spear's power is that it is able to hit the target I am looking at every time with 100% accuracy, and it doesn't matter if the target has barriers to protect it or is in another dimension. If I lock onto it with my sight, then my spear will hit."

While talking, he charges his aura to full power, his body doubling in muscle mass, and his arm holding the spear looking like it could throw it to the 10th dimension and destroy everything.

The big players look at him and know that they wouldn't be able to block this strike without injuries.

Zmaug locks his eyes on the target. Then, with a scream, he begins the motion of throwing the spear.

The steel wall beneath him starts to creak and crack like glass. The wind begins to blow, and heat starts to emanate from Zmaug's body as the spear starts to make a sound like a dragon's roar, ready to destroy everything in its path.

And when he lets go of the spear, a shockwave sends everything flying. The spear moves so fast that it is just a black blur, appearing and disappearing from existence. The dragon's roar of the spear is heard by all, above and below, in the sea and on the earth—like a bringer of certain death. There is no escaping from this strike, the roar announces that no being is worthy of even thinking of escaping.

When the devils feel something wrong, it is already too late. The spear appears inside their barrier as if it was always there. No crack is made, no breaking, no nothing. Just some ripples appear on the barrier as if the spear has just passed through a body of water.

Then they hear the roar that brings with it the "Drakon Clan Mightiness," saying no one under the sun is worthy to stand in its way.

The spear pierces the head of the devil's leader, and his head explodes into tiny pieces from the sheer power of the strike. Then the roar enters his body and starts to destroy his insides.

The spear flies further and further and then disappears, but Zmaug just raises his hand, and the spear appears back in his hand as if nothing happened.

The devils just watch the leader's headless body, only now falling to the ground and then catching fire , and not a normal fire. But a fire that consumes everything, including the soul. In just a few moments, his body is no more.

The strongest general among them is killed with a single strike from a spear thrown by a weak 'Earthling'. 

One of the generals says:

"Are we really fighting with weaklings? What part of that strike is... 'Weak'? We didn't even have time to blink, and one of us is no more."

Then the she-devil starts to get angry, really angry. She takes down the barrier and goes outside. The big players just watch the devil's generals, and they hear the she-devil saying something in their language:

"imaniegrahg, ewlliwllacehteritneymra."

Then she turns towards the big players and speaks in Uniakean:

"You weak Earthlings have managed what not many did—making us, the 'Devil Race,' attack with our entire force."

"Now our home is completely defenseless." 

She takes out a devil horn shaped like an S, with golden engravings in circles, rising from the sharp end all the way to the base. She puts the sharp end in her mouth and blows.

A sound like scratching on a chalkboard, mixed with crying babies and dying animals, is heard from the horn for about ten seconds continuously. After the ten seconds are over, the horn turns to dust. It was a one-time-use item.

Then, in the distance, an army made only of devils, ranging between five and ten million strong, with a prince leading the army, appears. And in this army, are not the mindless devils, there are only the twenty-five-meter-tall devils visible, with armor on their bodies and weapons in their hands.

The big players, at the sight of the army, know that they are screwed if Ark doesn't come soon.

The devil's generals start to grin when they see the faces of the big players.

While the army approaches the portal, Kyle tries to call the other planets in the Milky Way:

"Hello, this is Kyle Storm, the ruler of the Third Empire on Earth. We need backup immediately. An army of devils numbering between five and ten million are approaching Earth. If that army manages to get through the portal, then Earth will be lost."

Then a man answers his call but gives him even worse news.

"Here is the Central Tower. We are receiving calls for help from all over the Milky Way. The devils and the dark beings are attacking the entire galaxy. No one inside the Milky Way can help you now."

" We tried to call the 'Laniakea Center Tower' for help ourselves, but the situation there is even worse. The royal families of the devils and the dark beings are attacking the 'Royals planet', There is an army of ten billion strong."

When the big players hear that, they know that they have only themselves to rely on because the other empires on Earth are also under attack by the dark beings.

They look at each other and start to smile. Melody prepares her robots and weapons.

 Zmaug takes his spear and pulls Leah closer to him.

Elion has his bow in his hands and is ready.

Kyle takes his sword out for the first time since the battle started.

They look at the army that is almost upon them and know they can't wait anymore.

Zmaug takes his full dragon form and fires his dragon breath at them.

Elion raises his bow and pulls the string back ten times per second, firing almost 100 arrows per second.

Kyle raises his sword above his head, and clouds start to form above them. Then tornados made of air blades and lightning appear, and he lets his sword down, sending the tornados to the other side of the portal.

Leah takes her sword out and sends dark energy balls into the portal.

Melody looks once again down below and recognizes some of the people on the ground, their last breath given while fighting for their families, for their freedom, for their souls. Some are teachers, some are students, some are dads, some are moms, some are sons, some are daughters, some are brothers, some are sisters. Some are... 'Children'. She says:

"We have to hold on, we have to win. Even if we... die trying."

Then she looks into the portal, where the general devils are trying to block their onslaught with a barrier made by all four, giving enough time for the army to reach their side with no problem.

 She looks inside her head, and there is a black robot that she has never, not even once in her life, used. She picks it up and then says:

"Blackie, come and play."

Then a completely black robot with flowing armor and a knife in hand appears. Melody looks at him and thinks, "I can hold on for half an hour with Blackie out; then my energy will be completely spent."

The robot looks around and sees the portal and the devils inside. He starts to walk towards them, then he starts to disappear, and the next second, a head flies, a general was dead, his head rolling on the ground. 

The other generals look around for the enemy, but they don't see anything, they start to panic and lose focus.

 That moment is enough for a crack to appear in their barrier, and the next moment, the crack expands all over, and then the barrier breaks. The combined attacks from all the big players reach them directly now. 

The she-devil immediately retreats when the barrier falls, and because of that, she survives.

The other two are not so lucky. When the combined attacks hit them, they just disappear forever, with not even time to scream or to think about something. The she-devil escaped with her life, but not without injuries; a hand is missing, and her body has burn marks all over.

But she knows that if she wants to keep her life, she needs to reach the prince.
