Chapter 025: Underground Parking Garage

Cyrus Greene's plan to escape the hospital from the underground parking garage was shattered; at least three kidnappers blocked his way. The doctor who had fled with him in the car was shot dead, and the powerful firepower forced him to retreat by backing up.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

Taking cover behind a curve in the parking garage, Cyrus Greene temporarily lost contact with the kidnappers. But anyone with half a brain could guess that those three kidnappers wouldn't let him off easily; they would pursue him relentlessly.

I'm not a damn cop, I'm also a criminal wanted by the police. Why do bad guys have to make things difficult for other bad guys? Why are they fixated on me? This is infuriating!

The hospital's underground parking garage had three levels. Cyrus Greene was originally on level B1 and, unable to escape, could only run toward level B2. The kidnappers, armed with guns, followed closely behind.

The parking garage contained hundreds of various vehicles. Cyrus Greene's running and panting echoed repeatedly in the quiet space. He kept moving behind different cars while using the dark corners of the parking garage to observe the enemies' movements.

Two of the three kidnappers had come down in pursuit, both carefully searching the gaps between each car with their rifles. They coordinated with each other, providing alternate cover, not even neglecting to check under the cars, sweeping their gun barrels over any place where someone might hide.

The danger was closing in step by step. In less than thirty seconds, these two kidnappers would reach Cyrus Greene's hiding position.

If there had been only one person, Cyrus Greene might have gambled on his 'Exceptionally Agile' ability to engage in a shootout, since he always attacked first. But now the two were working together with great coordination. Even if he took down one kidnapper, the other would kill Cyrus Greene.

What to do?

With Cyrus Greene's terrible marksmanship due to lack of training, firing his gun could only intimidate people; hitting targets relied entirely on luck. With his current miserable streak of bad luck, any impulsive risk-taking was bound to fail.

"Yellow-skinned monkey, come out. Don't waste our time; you can't escape." One kidnapper shouted, intending to put more pressure on Cyrus Greene. "Your fate is sealed; any struggle is futile."

The arrogant shouting echoed throughout the entire B2 level of the parking garage, while the other kidnapper moved forward silently, like a hunting wildcat. He hoped his companion's voice would attract Cyrus Greene's attention while he delivered the fatal blow.

As the two kidnappers continued to advance, they suddenly heard a clanging sound from behind a car, as if a shadow had darted through the gap between vehicles. The two M4A1 carbines were immediately switched to fully automatic and opened fire fiercely.

Vehicles hit by bullets made a shattering sound as glass broke, with windows and doors instantly riddled with bullet holes. Some tires were even blown out, destroying the vehicles.

After emptying half a magazine of bullets, the two kidnappers realized they had been shooting at a fire extinguisher bottle from the parking garage. The fire extinguisher's steel bottle wasn't very thick, and after being hit by several consecutive bullets, it burst open violently.

The pressure inside the fire extinguisher wasn't great, but the foam that erupted immediately spread around. The kidnapper who had been cursing immediately understood they had been tricked. He asked puzzledly, "Where is that guy?"

"Be careful, he couldn't have run far." The other kidnapper said. He crouched down to check under a car, but before his gun barrel could aim, gunshots had already sounded from beneath a car.

The kidnapper tried to use taunts to attract Cyrus Greene's attention, and similarly, Cyrus Greene used a fire extinguisher placed in the corner of the parking garage to attract the kidnappers' attention. Especially when the fire extinguisher's steel bottle was unexpectedly burst open by several rifle bullets, the two kidnappers failed to notice that he was already hiding under a car.

Watching two large feet in combat boots swaying just two or three meters away from him, Cyrus Greene aimed for a long time before finally pulling the trigger. This time, he tried hard to control the direction of his gun barrel, aiming before shooting.

This was the effect of Cyrus Greene's "Innate Gift" of superior learning ability. After several failed shooting attempts, he began to summarize experiences and grasp some techniques.

After firing three bullets with bang-bang-bang, a scream was heard outside, followed by the sound of a body falling and crawling.

"I've been shot, I've been shot! John, he's under the car, he's under the car." The wounded kidnapper dragged his injured ankle, struggling to crawl backward while alerting his companion.

The popping sound of gunfire rang out again, ping-ping-pang-pang hitting the car where Cyrus Greene was hiding. The power of military bullets was enough to penetrate the car body, even through the chassis, to hit the ground.

Cyrus Greene didn't press his advantage. He was well aware of his disadvantages and immediately rolled from under one car to another after firing three shots. He quickly changed positions while the two kidnappers were still confused about the situation.

"Damn it, my foot." The injured kidnapper leaned against a parking garage pillar, tearing off the corner of his shirt to bind the wound, preventing excessive bleeding that could lead to fainting or even death. While crying in pain, he shouted, "John, kill that cop, you must kill him."

"Shut up." The kidnapper named John ordered sharply, becoming more vigilant after what happened to his companion. He looked at his companion's injured leg and asked, "Can you still walk?"

While John was asking, his gun barrel was pointed in Cyrus Greene's direction, but his head was turned toward his companion. Just then, his companion exclaimed, 'Watch out!'. Cyrus Greene emerged from behind a car, his face ferocious as he initiated an attack.

Fighting for survival from a desperate situation!

After injuring one person, he seized the moment while the other hadn't adjusted, launching a preemptive attack. In one-on-one combat, Cyrus Greene always struck first! First to detect the enemy, first to open fire, first to inflict damage!

At this moment, everything in Cyrus Greene's eyes was in slow motion. 'Exceptionally Agile' gave him that momentary time advantage. When the Glock pistol in his hand spat out bullets, the guy called 'John' on the other side hadn't even turned his head.

Bang-bang-bang... once again, Cyrus Greene compensated for lack of accuracy with quantity, frantically firing a full magazine of seventeen bullets. His rapid-fire intimidated with its intensity; the wildly flying bullets were more likely to scare someone to death than to kill them.

The two kidnappers were indeed terrified. Faced with Cyrus Greene's attack, their first reaction was to dodge. The pillars and ground of the parking garage were hit by bullets, sending debris flying.

After the sound of an empty chamber, Cyrus Greene quickly ducked his head and turned to slip away. During those ten seconds or so, he could see the details of the pimples on the faces of the two kidnappers, four or five meters away. Close-range firefights bring tremendous psychological pressure. He was so excited that his mind almost went blank, his hands and feet trembling.

After escaping about a dozen meters, Cyrus Greene remembered he should change his magazine, while also cursing himself for being useless, "Fired seventeen bullets and not a single one hit a vital spot. If I survive this time, I must practice my marksmanship."

On the kidnappers' side, when Cyrus Greene's surprise attack came, the first bullet hit John's neck, and the spraying blood even splattered all over the other kidnapper's face and head. By the time he dragged John to the other side of the pillar to avoid Cyrus Greene's bullets, he saw that John was tightly clutching his neck wound, already in a dying state.

At this moment, the kidnapper leader, Rock, who had captured Lina Fox, was using the radio to inquire about the situation. John pressed the talk button on the radio, trying hard to say something, but his perforated neck made it impossible to speak; only the sound of blood spurting from his mouth was transmitted.
