Chapter 10 – The Power of the Firstborns
The battlefield trembled under the sheer force of power radiating from the warriors.
Kairo's golden flames roared around him, his body glowing like a rising sun. Across from him, Kaelith, the Firstborn of the Phoenix, smiled with approval, his own flames burning brighter in response.
Raizen floated slightly above the ground, his silver lightning crackling violently in the air. The storm no longer resisted him—it flowed freely through his veins. Raikuro, the Firstborn of the Storm, folded his arms, studying Raizen with sharp, knowing eyes.
They had unlocked their true connection to their Beasts.
But it was far from enough.
The real battle was about to begin.
---
Kaelith's Flames – A Fire That Burns the Soul
Without warning—
Kaelith moved.
He didn't dash. He didn't flash-step.
He simply wasn't there anymore.
Before Kairo could react—
A burning fist smashed into his stomach.
"GUH—!"
Kairo's body caved inward, flames bursting from the impact as he was sent flying across the battlefield.
His mind reeled.
He had seen Kaelith move—he had even sensed the attack—but his body couldn't react in time.
Before he even crashed—
Kaelith appeared above him.
His hand gripped Kairo's face, and then—
BOOM!
He slammed him into the ground, a pillar of golden fire exploding from the impact.
Kairo let out a pained gasp.
I… I can't keep up.
Kaelith's voice rang out through the roaring flames.
"You think embracing your power is enough?" His golden eyes burned. "You're still using the Phoenix's power like a mortal. You haven't understood its true nature yet."
Kairo gritted his teeth and pushed himself up, his own flames raging around him.
"I'll figure it out," he growled, wiping the blood from his lips.
Kaelith smirked. "Then let's see how fast you learn."
In the next instant—
Kaelith became fire itself.
His entire body dispersed into golden flames, shifting like a living inferno.
And then—
He rushed toward Kairo like a burning comet.
Kairo's eyes widened.
He's not attacking with fire—he's literally becoming fire?!
He had no time to think. No time to react.
All he could do—
Was fight.

Raikuro's Thunder – The Storm That Devours All
Meanwhile, Raizen narrowed his eyes at Raikuro, whose stance had barely changed.
He could feel it.
Raikuro wasn't just standing still.
He was waiting.
Testing him.
"You're not making the first move?" Raizen asked, lightning flickering around his body.
Raikuro smiled. "No need."
Raizen clicked his tongue.
He wasn't going to waste time.
With a crack of thunder, he launched himself forward, his fist coated in silver lightning.
Raikuro didn't move.
Raizen's fist shot forward—
And then, at the last possible second—
Raikuro tilted his head.
Raizen's attack missed.
His eyes widened in shock.
Raikuro's grin widened. "Too slow."
And then—
A shockwave exploded from Raikuro's body.
Raizen felt it before he even saw it—
A storm erupted outward, pure silver lightning crashing in all directions.
Raizen barely had time to raise his arms before—
BOOM!
The lightning slammed into him, sending him soaring through the air like a ragdoll.
Pain erupted through his entire body.
He barely stabilized himself mid-air before Raikuro's voice echoed in his ears.
"You're using lightning like a weapon," Raikuro said, his voice calm—almost amused. "But the storm isn't a weapon."
Raizen gritted his teeth. "Then what the hell is it?!"
Raikuro vanished.
And in the next moment—
A voice whispered behind Raizen's ear.
"The storm is destruction itself."
CRACK-THOOM!
A bolt of pure silver lightning erupted from Raikuro's fingertips, striking Raizen's back at point-blank range.
"AAAAARGH—!"
Raizen's entire body spasmed violently.
His vision flashed white from the sheer force of the lightning tearing through his nerves.
And then—
He was slammed into the ground by an invisible force.
Dust and electricity crackled in the air.
Raizen gasped for breath.
His body twitched. His limbs barely responded.
Raikuro slowly walked forward, his expression unreadable.
"Control means nothing in the face of absolute destruction," he said. "The storm doesn't ask for permission. It takes. It devours. It annihilates."
Raizen's fingers dug into the dirt.
His breath was ragged.
He wasn't strong enough.
But—
Neither was Kairo.
If I don't figure this out… we're both dead.

The Turning Point – Awakening the True Power
On opposite ends of the battlefield—
Kairo and Raizen were pushed to their limits.
Their bodies were failing.
Their power was insufficient.
But something was changing.
Something was awakening.
Kaelith and Raikuro watched in anticipation.
They could see it.
The moment where everything would shift.
Kairo's flames began burning in an unfamiliar way.
Raizen's lightning flickered strangely, almost unnaturally.
Both warriors were on the verge of something new.
Something greater.
The battle was far from over.
