Valentius and the guards were like shadows.
They didn't make a noise, hidden in Valentius' barrier, as the man slithered at the front. The lights were flickering ahead of them. There was little the goblins could do now.
And yet, Valentius still kept watch on the mana signatures. He knew the goblin shamans who had remained behind would ring the alarm.
That they would put on the barriers.
The settlement had rune stones around it. Valentius was slowly draining them of their mana. It would be helpful for him to keep it, he noted.
Even if it was just goblin mana.
The Nightshade took hold of the wooden gates. He pushed at them lightly.
The music from the settlement stopped. The goblins all looked at the open gates.
