Chapter 92: The Vow

Brutus came back to Valentius, only to find him observing a goblin camp. The wolf had tried to get through the barrier around the other goblin camp, but the shamans had nearly killed him.

"Brutus," Valentius murmured, taking hold of a lying mana stone. One that had ugly scribbles, only the goblins used.

Brutus sat down next to him. His ears twitched. The wolf waited for his scolding.

"We need to scare them. They are too many," Valentius continued, taking hold of Brutus horns and pouring his mana in them. "You will howl the entire night. Do you understand?"

Just as Valentius said that, he spent a single mana stone to force the barrier to close from the inside; the goblin's panicking yells were as clear as rain, even from Valentius' spot by the latrines.

The stench was overwhelming, but he still knelt there. Waiting for his chance.

"Come now, Brutus," Valentius said, taking his bow. He took the measure from his spot.
