Selena’s Downfall

"I don't have time," Damian said flatly.

Isabella frowned. "If you won't bring her to me, then I'll visit her myself."

She was excited. "Don't worry—I won't cause any trouble. I just want to meet her."

Damian knew his mother well. If he stopped her now, she'd only become more determined.

He sighed. "Fine. Just… don't frighten her."

Isabella laughed. "Scare her? Do I have a terrifying face? I only want to get to know my future daughter-in-law."

And with that, she left as quickly as she had arrived.

Victor looked uneasy. "Boss, are you sure it's a good idea to let Mrs. Blackwell meet Miss Cross? What if something goes wrong?"

Damian smirked. "Brides can't be hidden from their in-laws."

At the Cross estate, Elena stood at the entrance.

This had been her home for years, but now, it felt foreign—like she no longer belonged.
