[48] The Opponent for the First Battle is Decided

Shortly after, the police arrived at the scene and arrested all the terrorists, including Smile.

Japan has specialized prisons for terrorist Blazers, scattered across the country. To prevent any possible escape attempts, the locations of these prisons are highly confidential. Not only are student knights unaware of their locations, but even many professional knights don't know where they are.

After Bishou's arrest, it's likely that he will be imprisoned in one of these facilities, with no chance of ever getting out.

"Please come with us to give your statements," a middle-aged police officer politely said to Eiji and the others.

In modern society, Blazers are the foundation of the world. Systems like the police and military are built around Blazers, giving them significant authority.

Even senior police officers wouldn't dare to act superior in front of student knights. Who knows if these kids might become their superiors after graduation?

However, with great power comes great responsibility.

While Blazers enjoy various privileges, they must also shoulder corresponding duties. Specifically, when terrorists attack, they must step forward to protect ordinary people.

This is why the League promotes knightly education in the Blazer community. It's essential to instill a sense of chivalry in Blazers from a young age, so they develop a sense of responsibility.

In some member countries, the League even trains Blazers as if they were true knights. Japan had attempted to implement this but faced resistance.

The reason? Freedom and democracy.

This country, heavily influenced by the West, saw public protests when the League tried to introduce knightly education. People argued that it was undemocratic, and the initiative was eventually abandoned.

Eiji and Ikki, along with the others, gave their statements in the police car.

By the time everything was settled, it was already evening.

"Junior, are you okay?"

As Eiji stepped out of the police car, he saw his senior sister, Touka, rushing toward him.

With the aid of her electromagnetic powers, she moved like the wind, quickly reaching his side. Her face was tense behind her glasses as she scrutinized him for any injuries.

"I'm fine, senior sister. A mere terrorist isn't worth using my full power," Eiji reassured her, allowing her to check him over.

If it weren't for the fact that the terrorists were numerous and armed with assault rifles, he wouldn't have even needed to use his abilities. His swordsmanship alone would have been enough to defeat them.

"That's good. You always push yourself too hard. When I heard you encountered terrorists, I thought you might have done something reckless. You scared me..."

After confirming that Eiji was unharmed, Touka finally relaxed, though she still chided him.

She hadn't been too worried about his safety, as she had heard from the principal that Nene, their senior sister, had been with him.

Although Touka hadn't interacted much with Nene—having only met her once or twice in the five years since joining their master's tutelage—she knew that with Nene around, Eiji's safety was assured.

"Alright, alright, it's my fault." Eiji raised his hands in mock surrender.

"Is that guy actually capable of being so obedient?" Stella whispered to Ikki, surprised by Eiji's behavior.

"That person must be someone special. I know her too. She's the student council president of Hagun Academy, the current strongest student in the school, and one of the disciples of the God of War. They must have a very close relationship," Ikki explained to Stella as he watched the two from a distance.

"The strongest at Hagun Academy?" Stella was momentarily stunned, then turned her gaze toward Touka with a thoughtful expression.

The Kingdom of Vermillion was a very weak nation.

Aside from her, a genetic anomaly, the strongest Blazers in the country were only three C-Rank knights, including her father. Staying in that country, she would never have been able to grow stronger.

That's why she had come to Japan, another member country of the League, to study. Her goal was to become stronger, to become a knight worthy of her world-class magical power, and to protect her country.

'That's someone I must surpass sooner or later,' Stella thought to herself as she watched Touka fuss over Eiji.

If she couldn't even surpass the strongest student at Hagun Academy, she had no right to seek a path to greater strength.

"Senior sister, I summoned my Device without permission. Will I be punished?" Eiji glanced around, noticing Kurono and Nene conversing in the distance, and quietly asked Touka.

"Don't worry. Before you engaged the terrorists, Ikki had already contacted the principal, and all of you were given permission," Touka reassured him with a soft laugh.

That's a relief.

Although they hadn't appeared on the front lines in time, Ikki and the others had handled the logistics well. Otherwise, Eiji might have faced suspension.

Wait, I used my family's heirloom sword. It has nothing to do with my Device. Why would I be suspended?

Eiji suddenly realized this and felt that his shamelessness still had room for improvement.

"Touka."

As the two were talking, a noblewoman holding a parasol approached them.

"Everything has been taken care of. Nangou-kun can return to the school to rest now."

Since students from Hagun Academy were involved in this terrorist incident, the student council had to step in to handle the related matters. Touka and Director had come for this purpose.

"Junior, you've had a long day. Go back and rest. I'll be returning later," Touka instructed Eiji before heading off with Kanata to deal with the police.

"Oh, Nangou-san." Kanata suddenly stopped and turned back to Eiji before leaving.

"During the terrorist attack, I assume you turned off your student handbook, so you haven't seen the message yet. You can turn it on now."

As she said this, she slightly lifted her head, revealing her clear, emerald-green eyes beneath the wide brim of her hat, with a meaningful look in them.

Though puzzled, Eiji took out his student handbook and turned it on.

When they had disguised themselves as terrorists in the movie theater, the experienced Nene had told him to turn off his handbook, so he had complied.

As the screen lit up, a message quickly appeared.

[Eiji Nangou, your first selection match opponent is: Class 3-2, Kanata Totokubara.]

Important Note: Yesterday I translated a chapter with a vague R-18 scene typical of Chinese web novels, so I want your opinion on what to do with those chapters. Should I keep the chapter same as the original or should I make a R-18 chapter myself and add it as a .5 chapter. If you have any ideas about what to do in those chapters comment them here. And I've also post a poll about this in my patreon, please make a choice there too.

Btw, thanks for reading.
