The city surrounded by towering walls is called Orario.
It is the true center of the world and the largest city in the world. Because it boasts a majestic underground labyrinth, it is also known as the "Labyrinth City, Orario."
After entering through the eastern gate of the city, Eiji walked along East Main Street.
Orario has eight main streets known as "Main Streets," which radiate from the city center and extend in eight directions toward the massive walls surrounding the city.
From above, the entire city of Orario looks like a giant round cake, evenly divided into eight equal parts by the eight main streets.
According to Andra, people distinguish the main streets by their directions. For example, since Eiji entered through the eastern gate, the street before him is East Street.
As soon as he entered East Street, the first thing that caught his eye was a massive Roman-style colosseum.
The colosseum was built directly opposite East Street, with its south gate facing the main street. Many armoured warriors could be seen entering and exiting the colosseum with great enthusiasm, and the sounds of shouting could be heard from within.
In addition to the colosseum, there were many shops and residences lining both sides of the street, mostly made of stone. Every few buildings, there were small alleys leading to the back, creating a network of pathways.
Most of the pedestrians were humans, but there were also beastmen, dwarves, elves, and other demi-humans. Some appeared to be ordinary citizens, while others were adorned with splendid equipment.
Among the crowd, a few figures stood out with their dignified presence, exuding an extraordinary aura.
They were gods.
The moment Eiji saw them, he knew their identities.
Each of them carried a special kind of aura, one that was very authoritative. It must be what Andra referred to as "divine aura."
However, despite being gods, they looked almost no different from ordinary people, apart from their dignified appearance. This was likely because they had sealed their divine powers.
As Eiji walked along the street, both humans and demi-humans would cast admiring glances at him and respectfully make way for him.
With such an unparalleled appearance, people generally assumed he must be a god.
Several passing gods looked at him with puzzled expressions, as if trying to recall whether they had ever seen such a colleague in the heavens.
Some tried to approach him to strike up a conversation, but Eiji completely ignored them, quickly passing through the main street and leaving everyone behind as he hurried toward the city center.
The people could only regretfully give up their pursuit.
At the very center of the city, where the eight main streets converged, was a very spacious central square.
The square was paved with stone bricks, complemented by evenly spaced gardens and large fountains. In the center of the square stood a towering spire that seemed to reach into the clouds.
This spire stood at the very heart of Orario, towering so high that it could be seen from the moment one entered the city. The sacred and majestic tower was constructed from pure white stone, with a base diameter of at least 300 meters. Looking up, one couldn't even see its apex, and it was impossible to tell how many floors it had or what kind of people could reside in such a towering structure.
"This is the Tower of Babel, and directly below it is the underground labyrinth... but that's not what I'm looking for right now."
Eiji's gaze swept over the Tower of Babel. Although he was amazed by its scale, having come from the modern world, he wasn't overly awed by such architecture.
After getting his bearings, Eiji's eyes settled on the northwest street, and he stepped onto it.
After walking no more than 300 meters, a grand and imposing building came into view.
This building was constructed along the northwest street, right next to the pure white tower, and faced the main street. It looked very spacious, and at the moment, many well-equipped warriors were coming and going, all showing great reverence for the place.
"This is the Guild headquarters."
Eiji confirmed his destination and stepped through the gate.
—The Guild.
In short, it was the organization responsible for managing the entire labyrinth city. Their authority extended to all aspects of the city, and they had a hand in almost everything.
The grand building before him was the Guild's headquarters in Orario.
After passing through the main gate, Eiji entered the front courtyard of the Guild headquarters. The courtyard was adorned with many imposing statues. Walking through the courtyard, he arrived at the Guild's main hall, constructed from pure white marble.
The floor was primarily white and blue, with many circles etched into it. The marble material made the floor appear very smooth. The walls were lined with numerous bulletin boards, on which many parchment papers were posted. People were constantly walking back and forth beneath the boards.
The entire hall was very spacious, capable of accommodating over a thousand people without feeling crowded.
Though it seemed to have a historical feel, there was also a subtle sense of modernity. The blending of different styles created this unique otherworldly city.
Eiji glanced around, ignoring the surprised looks from the crowd, and made his way to the Guild staff's counter, approaching the service window.
"Hello, how may I help you... Huh? Are you a god?"
The staff member at this window was a human girl with peach-pink shoulder-length hair, tied into a bun at the back of her head.
She looked to be around eighteen or nineteen years old, with a somewhat babyish face. She wore a white shirt, a sleeveless blazer, and long pants—the standard Guild staff uniform—giving her a cute yet professional appearance.
The girl was reciting her usual lines when she looked up and her eyes lit up, as if the entire world had suddenly brightened.
"I'm human. I want to join a Familia. Can you tell me how?"
Just use your face.
Misha really wanted to say that, but it would have been too impolite, so she swallowed the words.
But... are you really not a god?
Misha cautiously glanced at the young man before her. Even as someone who frequently interacted with gods, she could confidently say that 99% of male gods couldn't compare to this young man's beauty. Walking down the street, he could easily make countless girls fall in love with him.
He didn't seem like a naturally beautiful elf or half-elf either, since he didn't have pointed ears... Could such an incredible mutation really appear among humans?
"Hello, are you listening?"
"Ah, yes, of course... You want to join a Familia, right?"
Misha snapped out of her thoughts and quickly straightened up.
"Do you know what kind of Familia you want to join? A commerce-based one, a craftsman-based one, an agriculture-based one? Or perhaps an exploration-based one?"
