Chapter 5 Fight against Madara

Landing a few meters back, I saw that Madara was no longer in the position he was in before he stepped back, so I didn't let my guard down.

Looking around at everything, so as not to be attacked from behind, at some point Madara was with his Katana to one side, so as I had seen before, I couldn't stop him.

I placed my Katana in such a way that, upon receiving the blow, I had the opportunity to move it downwards and make a quick cut.

When I tried to make this move, Madara quickly realized what I was up to, so he lowered his support point, so I had to change my strategy quickly.

I made a feint to try to stop him again, but a second before our katanas collided, I jumped slightly and made a horizontal cut.

But just before I managed to make the cut, Madara leaned enough to let the cut pass and not receive any damage.

I found myself in the air and made a quick turn to avoid receiving a cut from below.

Indeed, as I turned and placed my Katana in front of me, Madara's next move was coming, but it was only for an instant, before, thanks to the clash, I quickly retreated from the place.

"Don't tell me you can only escape." Madara snorted, seeing that I couldn't break his defense and he was making me retreat at all times.

So this time I got serious, to take advantage of this occasion, I decided to start the attack on my own.

We clashed our katanas a couple of times and, in addition, I made some movements that were very disadvantageous for me, and even left some vulnerable points in my stance.

After a while of this situation, although I really received some cuts from Madara, when I made this type of movements once again, he made a slash that was aimed at my left arm.

But a few moments before the blow landed, I slightly bent my feet and the cut passed just over my shoulder.

And as I regained my center of gravity I made a cut that was aimed at Madara's neck, but just before reaching his neck, I just stopped the attack.

At this point I was with a satisfied laugh on my face, proving that I had won, but the next second, I felt a sharp object hitting me on the side of my thigh.

It was at that moment, when I looked down, there was a kunai right on my thigh, in the same place where one of the important arteries passes, which, if it were to enter, would bleed me out in a matter of minutes.

So, after the result of the battle came, I removed my katana from Madara's neck, and he removed the Kunai from my thigh.

"Fantastic, Jomei you are a full-fledged ninja." Izuna added.

But the next second Madara's response came. "You still need more." I didn't take it as a bad comment, because I had only been training for a little over a year.

Since I was two years old, I started training in the backyard of my house. I really knew that my level was still below Madara.

"I really appreciate the duel, it made me see what my weaknesses were." I responded to what Madara had mentioned, and I bowed 90° to show my respect and gratitude for the fight.

"If you really want to surpass your level, you should wait a few more years, so that you can hone your combat form, on the battlefield."

But this answer from Madara did not please Izuna, who wanted to recruit me to be a researcher, who could create some jutsu that would help us on the battlefield.

Since the use of izanami and izanagi were prohibited, only the highest ranking members of the clan had knowledge of this jutsu, because even if it gave you a second or third life.

The use of this jutsu was partly repudiated by the clan, since, by using it, you lost one of your eyes, which were more than revered in the clan.

"I appreciate the advice, I look forward to reaching the front line of battle with eagerness patriarch, and give greater value to our clan." I answered.

After that, Madara decided to retreat and I stayed with Izuna, who urged me to return to the vicinity of the clan.

But in the middle of the road, Izuna stopped for a second, so I stood next to him.

"Is everything okay Izuna?".

"Do you really want to go to the battlefield?" He asked me with a slightly distant look.

"No." I answered immediately.

"Then why did you say that to my brother?".

After a small sigh I answered. "Izuna, do you think this war will end in a short period?".

"If we conduct a deeper investigation into our ocular abilities, we might be able to tip the balance."

He took me by the shoulder and continued. "After you told me to use my sharingan more frequently, I've felt that my vision and concentration have improved."

He paused for a second and focused his gaze on the village. "But for some reason I haven't managed to advance beyond that."

"So, do you think there is a power greater than the three magatama sharingan?" I asked, to see if he could confirm that his brother currently had the mangekyo.

"Yes, I have felt my power increase slightly every day, but as I told you, I still can't break that barrier."

This fact is because he has not yet witnessed a suffering that causes the Yin element that is in our bodies to spread to our eyes, but it requires such a great agitation in our body that it is apparently only obtained by seeing the loss of a loved one or even coming face to face with death.

But obviously I can't tell this fact to Izuna at this moment, because I don't have the grounds for this assertion.

I didn't think that prolonged use would somehow lighten the emotional burden needed to access the next level.

I think I should try this experiment once I get my eyes.
