Chapter 15: She is a thief

Lisa got up and swallowed hard in panic.

They all stared at her while she got up with the file in her hands. She first sighed and gathered the coarage to look at all of them.

' Lisa, You can do it'

She said and finally looked upright at them.

" My name is Lisa and I am going to make this presentation." She begun and opened the file to read what was inside.

As soon as she opened the file a golden necklace came from it and fell to the ground.

" I am sorry.." Lisa spoke in confused and bent to pick it.

At first everyone was confused until Jenny saw the necklace and picked it.

" Oh my God ! Isn't this the necklace I was looking for yesterday. You stole it !" Jenny accused.

" What are you talking about ?" Lisa asked in confusion with her eyes getting wet.

The meeting attendants begun murmuring in confusion.

" what is happening " One of the old men from the Shareholders got up and asked in disappointment.

" She is a thief, She stole my necklace." Jenny affirmed.

Lucy got up immediately and looked at them in astonishment.

" We are in the middle of an important meeting.How dare you accuse her with no proof ?" Lucy asked.

" Mrs Anderson, I am not lying. I lost this necklace last week. And it's not only me, My friends have lost some things too since Lisa joined the company." Jenny said.

" Mrs Anderson it's true. I also lost my watch last week. How about we go and check her stuff ?" Another girl who was always seated next to Jenny said.

" You can't just accuse me assistant like this." Canary stepped forward with seriousiness.

" I am giving you the right to go and check her things, Id you find nothing. You two will be fired." He said.

" And if she really took our things, Must she leave ?" Jenny asked.

" The board members shall decide." Canary lowered his voice.

" There's no way we can a woman like her in our company. As the head of the board I have decided." One of the elder men from the shareholders proclaimed.

" You heard yourselves. Now go and check as we resume the meeting." Canary said.

" Yes sir.." Jenny agreed and the two left the hall with Lisa.

They all saw them off and some members will still murmuring.

" Attention please !" Canary went to the microphone and they kept silence.

" I am sorry for all the inconsistencies caused. I will proceed with the presentation."

Lisa went with the two girls quietly to the office and opened for them angrily.

Jenny smirked and looked at her.

" Richie, Start checking everything of hers immediately." Jenny ordered crossing her hands before her chest.

Lisa let them because she knew she was innocent.

Richie begun checking the desk and the drawers one by one and in two minutes she landed on the watch that was in one of the last drawers.

" You see, I knew it !" Richie our the watch which surprised Lisa herself.

" I swear I don't know how it came to be in my things" Lisa cried.

" You don't even know how denay.." Jenny said in a snot and squatted to do the further checking herself until she found another purse and a bracelet.

She put them on the desk in fury and said. " You see, You even have more things. You shameless bitch !" Jenny spoke abruptly.

" Someone set me up , Please believe me" Lisa begged solemnly and her wet eyes were now releasing tears.

" Huh" Richie chuckled.

" No wonder I hated you from the beginning. I can't wait to see you leave the company." Richie jubilated.

" Just know. People like her don't deserve here." Jenny concluded.

Lisa clinched her firsts in anger.

The meeting finally came to an end they begun departing.

Lisa was the topic while the workers talked about her in murmurs.

Canary was chatting with one of the old men who had been much pleased with his performance when Lucy came.

" Lucy, Your son's performance was very good. I have hopes already that he will bring us back the title at the Pearls show." The old man praised.

" Thanks Ronald." Lucy smiled.

" It's getting late. Now I am leaving." He said and left.

" Follow me !" Lucy said and went to the Office with Canary.

When they entered Lisa was there already packing her things. When she saw Lucy she stood upright.

" Mrs Anderson" She called solemnly.

Canary just gave a wicked smile and went to his desk.

" Lisa..So you really stole those items ?" Lucy asked.

They heard recieved the report already from Jenny and Richie.

" Mrs Anderson, That's all lies. I didn't .." Lisa cried.

Canary was listening and hiding his laughter at the moment.

" We have no choice. Not until you can prove you didn't do it, For now leave our company." Lucy proclaimed breaking Lisa's heart into pieces.

After this Lucy left the office.

Lisa pouted her lips to stop her tears from coming but all in vein.

While she was in this misery Canary finally came to with his smile on.

Lisa looked at him angrily and then focused on packing her things.

" Should I help you or not ?" He asked sacarstically.

She kept mum when he picked a pile of her books and she pulled them from his hands immediately but as she did this her note book remained in his hands.

" The only bond between us is now gone. Don't touch my things." She said in the middle of her tears.

He smiled and put the notebook on the other side of the desk.

" Fine then.." He said and left the office.

He was just at the door when he found Camilla.

" Canary…Where are you going ?" She asked.

" …I am… I was just going to get some fresh air." He said.

" Well, I had also come to check on you. I think what your assistant did put you in shock." Camilla muttered.

" A little." He answered.

Camilla smiled cutely and put her hands on his shoulders.

" I missed you." She blushed.

Canary bit his lower lip seductively.
