Chapter 53; Do you remember anything about the accident ?

Her smile faded as she turned to face him.

Denis just gave Canary a thin smile but Canary looked at them with fury.

" Greetings.." Lisa spoke with a low bow and then walked away.

Canary watched her leave immediately and chuckled innery.

" She's such a talent. I was appreciating her work." Denis said.

" Let's get to business." Canary hissed and walked past Denis to get where they could sit and talk from.

They went to one of the cafe VIP rooms and cofffe was served to them.

Lucy was stll in the hospital with Alex when he opened his eyes again.

" Honey, You are awake ?" Lucy asked quickly moving closer to hold his hand.

Alex looked at her face and tried to move his palm to cup her cheek.

She drawed closer and helped him to put his hands on her smooth face.

" Lucy …" Alex called in a very soft voice.

Lucy's face danced with astonishment as she wondered if this was real.

" Dear, Did you just speak ?" She asked to make sure she heard it right.

" ..Yes… My love.." He resorted maintaining his low tone.

Lucy's eyes smiled with tears and hugged him immediately.

" I'm so happy you can talk again. You will seen fully heal." She said with tears.

Alex tried to stretch his arms to hug her back.

They hugged for a moment while Lucy cried with tears of joy.

After she sat back on the chair to talk to him.

" Do you remember anything about the accident ?" Lucy asked while they were in middle of the conversation.

Alex shook his head. " I don't remember anything that happened before the accident." He lied.

" But dear, You shouldn't worry. Since you can talk soon your memory will come back." She encouraged.

' Your brother was the reason for everything. But before I get any proof, I can't tell you right now. I have to continue pretending like I remember nothing.'

Alex's inner voice said to him.

" I can't wait to take you back home again. Everyone will be glad to hear your voice again." Lucy assured him,

That evening Canary was leaving for home when he met with Lisa at the parking.

When there eyes met he remembered her words.

Remembering her words and the way she looked at Denis with a smile, Canary felt more angry meeting her and he walked past her without a word.

Lisa had stopped to see his reaction but when he walked past her without a word she found it paining her but she decided to swallow the pain hard.

On arriving home Canary found Lucy waiting for him at the door.

" Mom, What's.." he asked in confusion but before he could complete his sentence Lucy stopped him midway.

" Welcome back, I have a surprise for you." She grinned and held his hand quietly.

" What is it that had exited you at this moment ?" Canary asked while Lucy dragged him to their room.

" Just keep quite and see it for yourself." Lucy said and opened the door for him.

Alex was inside the room seated in the parlor.

" Dad is back already ?" Canary asked.

Lucy kept silent and smiled as Canary watched her.

" ..Canary…" Canary was delighted to hear that familiar voice call him.

He slowly turned to face Alex.

His eyes turned wet in disbelief as he watched his father gaze at him with a grin.

" Father…did..did..you …just call my name ?" He asked not believing it.

Alex nodded pleasantly.

" Father ?" Canary called again and rushed to him where he knelt before him.

" Are you really able to speak again ?" Canary asked make sure.

" I'm trying.." Alex mumbled.

He slowly moved his hands to cup Canary's face.

" My son, You have grown so much. I wanted to tell you this." He said.

Canary quickly dried the tears that were escalating from his face and said.

" I just look like you. Isn't it ?" He asked.

" Indeed,"Alex nodded.

While they were inside the room Joel was just returning from work when Ketra welcomed him back.

" Where is everyone?" Joel questioned.

" Mr Andersons came back from the hospital. They all went in to see him. He's finally able to speak again." Ketra said.

" He's able to speak again ?" Joel asked surprised.

" Yes.." Ketra responded with a smile.

" For how long have they been inside ?" Joel asked.

" A few minutes ago." As Ketra was still talking Joel upstairs to them.

He had to hurry just before Alex says anything about him.

Canary, Kucy and Alex were now seated together when Joel suddenly opened the door in panic which startled them.

" Joel.., You scared me !" Lucy spoke and got up.

" I'm sorry for not knocking the door first. I heard..Alex was back so I hurried in to check on him." Joel said.

" Yes, He can speak again." Lucy answered.

' From the way they are looking at me it seems he hasn't said anything.'

Joel thought and went over to them.

" Ooh, Good evening Alex. Welcome back from the hospital." Joel spoke.

" Thank you." Alex maintained his mood and gave a smile.

Joel found himself a seat opposite them.

" So…besides talking again, Are some of your memories back ?" Joel asked.

" It's unfortunate he hasn't fully recovered. But soon he will." Lucy said happily.

" Alright , alright I will leave you to have a family talk." Joel got up to leave.

" thanks for checking." Lucy said to him.

Joel gave a thin smile and then left.

" Dad, We shall be talking. For now I will say good night." Canary said and he also got up to leave.

For the remaining days Alex kept acting like he knew nothing at all and he continued with his body treatment.

Canary kept on ignoring Lisa as she had requested him, They two didn't talk for one more week and their relationship went back to strangers.

After week …

It was on a Friday Morning when Micheal came to give Canary a schedule.

" The business trip schedule is already set up. We shall fly to London in the evening where we shall attend the Andersons Launch tomorrow, then on Sunday we have a meeting with Mr Yates in the morning and then Mr Fukushima in the evening." Micheal explained.

" Alright, Be ready by evening." Canary said.

" Okay Sir.." Micheal acknowledged.

" Fuck ! I need to read through all these before I go for the trip." He cursed.

" Should I call Secretary Camilla to help you ?" Micheal joked.

" Hmm" Canary sneered. " Why would I bother her, I can do it myself. "

" I can't believe that you two turned from lovers to enemies." Micheal teased.

" Hi, We were never lovers okay ?" Canary asked.

" That's what you think because you have never actually cared about any one's feelings." Micheal said a word that pierced Canary.

After this Micheal walked out of the office.
