Chapter 58; I’m so sorry Canary

" I know I won't regret this." Canary said.

" But how will the project go without Mr Johnson's help ? You should consider his request maybe."

Canary looked at Lisa. " Do you even know what his request is ?" Canary asked.

" I am sure it's not something that you can fail to give." Lisa mumbled.

Canary couldn't help shaking his head,

" Are you still virgin ?" Canary asked out of blue.

His question almost chocked Lisa and she looked away immediately in embarrassment.

" .,,H..H..How…. dare…. you ask me such a… question?" She was more ashamed than Canary himself.

" Never mind,…" He changed the topic and looked at his watch.

" Let's go have something to eat, We have another meeting to attend in the evening." He went back inside the car.

They had a drive around the town which Lisa enjoyed and Canary noticed how happy and cheerful she looked.

Later in the Evening he went for the meeting with another business partner which went all. Lisa noted and listened carefully and she fully played her role.

Finally the schedule for the day was done and they went bank to the hotel.

The last thing on the schedule was a launch party that was to be held the following day in the evening.

After revising through it Lisa left her room to go and grab a drink from the Hotel restaurant but as she was coming out she saw Canary entering his room with a mother woman holding his hand.

Lisa felt weak again on seeing them like this.

Her heart squeezed as she confronted herself. ' Why in all people must I love him ? I knows he's a player. I know he can't love me, I am not his type.'

As thoughts ran in her Mind she walked directly to the hotel bar and ordered for wine.

The truth the woman Canary had just entered the room with was just one of the hotel staff.

Canary had just reported that his washroom had no water so the lady had come to confirm.

" I am sorry for the inconveniences Mr Anderson, but I will get men to fix it right way." She promised.

" Okay.."

After she left the room. But Lisa didn't know all that, she knew Canary was a player. She was used to seeing him with different women , So knowing he's gonna sleep with anyone wasn't a surprise to her.

But ever since she developed feelings for him she couldn't help feel bad about these actions, she was struggling and trying herself not to get lost into him. But the harder she tried, the more it haunted her.

As the men came to fix the water, Canary decided to leave the room and went to the Hotel bar too. Little did he know that Lisa was there.

He had got himself a seat from one of the couches when he saw a familiar figure at the counter.

" Isn't that Lisa, What's she doing here ?" He asked himself.

He remained there and decided to watch her.

Canary could see a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

As the night wore on, Lisa's drinking only increased. Canary tried to keep up with her, but she was outpacing him. She was laughing and joking, but Canary could see the pain behind her eyes.

Finally, Lisa slumped over and passed out. Canary sighed and stood up, he went on her and lifted her into his arms. He carried her to her room, trying not to jostle her too much.

As he laid her down on the bed, Lisa stirred and opened her eyes. "Canary?" she mumbled.

"I'm here, Lisa," Canary said, brushing her hair out of her face.

Lisa looked up at him, her eyes unfocused. "I'm so sorry, Canary," she said, her voice slurred. "I was so mean to you."

Canary smiled and stroked her hair. "You weren't mean, Lisa," he said. "You were just upset. And I don't understand why ."

Lisa nodded, her eyes drooping closed. "I'm so tired," she said.

Canary nodded and pulled a blanket over her. "Sleep, Lisa," he said.

As Lisa drifted off to sleep, Canary sat down beside her and watched her, he couldn't help but stare at her beautiful face.

She was so peaceful, so serene, and yet, he knew that she was struggling.

He wondered if he really had feelings for her, or if he was just caught up in the moment.

He looked at her lips, soft and inviting, and her eyes, closed in sleep.

He felt a pang in his chest, and he knew that he had to be honest with himself.

Canary stood up and walked over to the window, trying to clear his head.

He looked out at the city, but his mind was still on Lisa. He couldn't believe how much he cared for her, and it terrified him.

After covering her well with a blanket Canary went back to his room and slept.

***

Lisa woke up the following morning and found herself in bed. He head was ached as she got up to leave the bed and tried to remember what happened the previous night.

She recalled going to the bar, drinking too much, and Canary carrying her back to her room. She was grateful for his help, but also embarrassed.

Lisa slowly sat up again, planting her feet firmly on the ground. She looked around the room, relieved to be alone.

She stood up, feeling dizzy, and stumbled to the bathroom.

As she splashed water on her face, Lisa regretted letting her emotions get the best of her.

After the shower she had to meet Canary for breakfast from the Hotel restaurant.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Canary asked after they had made orders, concern etched on his face.

"Better, thanks," Lisa replied, taking a sip of coffee. "What's the plan for today?"

" You need to the launch venue earlier today and help the workers with the organization. I will join you guys later in the evening. " Canary told her.

Lisa nodded, taking a bite of her toast. "Sounds good. I'm ready to tackle the day."

When they were done Cabary got up to leave.

As Canary walked away, Lisa called out to him. "Hey, Canary?"

He turned around, questioning. "Yeah?"

Lisa smiled softly. "Thanks for carrying me to my room last night. I appreciate it."

Canary's expression softened, and he nodded. "Anytime, Lisa."

After he walked away. Lisa sighed again.

She decided to focus more on work other than thinking about Canary. She knew loving him was useless to him. All she needed to do try her best to work with him well.

She was glad that today was their last day of the trip and it all went well the following day she was traveling back home.

The evening finally came and it was time for the launch party.

Here's a brief description of the venue, decoration, and style of people at the launch:

The venue was a trendy art gallery in the heart of the city, with high ceilings, white walls, and polished concrete floors.

The decoration was sleek and modern, with minimalist lighting and a bold color scheme.

The crowd was stylish and fashionable, with many people dressed in designer clothing and sporting the latest trends.

There were also some more eclectic and artistic types, with bold hairstyles and statement pieces. Overall, the atmosphere was chic and sophisticated, with a sense of excitement and creativity in the air.

Here's a revised version of the passage:

Lisa was stunned when Canary walked in with a beautiful woman she had never seen before.

The woman was tall, with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes.

She was wearing a stunning red gown that hugged her curves in all the right places.

Lisa felt a pang of jealousy as Canary and the woman made their way through the crowd, smiling and laughing together.

But Lisa ignored them and focused on the work she still doing. She was used to seeing Canary like this so today she didn't want to let this bother her.

' This is my last night in London. At least I should enjoy it.'

She said to herself and gave a smile.
