"Doctor, is my darling really okay?"
"She's been feeling nauseous and throwing up for a while now, ever since she was pushed to the ground."
The doctor gave River a side-eye and said to me irritably, "Your husband doesn't get it, but don't you have any idea yourself?"
"You're two months pregnant. Nausea and vomiting are typical early pregnancy symptoms. Don't you understand?"
"I can't believe you two. When you get home, brush up on some basic pregnancy knowledge. Try to avoid strenuous activity during the first trimester..."
I was stunned. So was River.
I was pregnant!
How did this happen?
River was overjoyed and embraced me tightly, his voice trembling as he said, "Darling, didn't you say you couldn't get pregnant?"
I stammered, "I... I don't know. Ethan and I were together for so long without getting pregnant, I always thought it was my problem... wait a minute."
I suddenly paused mid-sentence.
If I could get pregnant normally, then the problem must have been with Ethan.
