Martin stopped and turned back. ‘Mr Cane, do you have something to say?’
Liam had stayed with the Garner family for a while back then.
Martin recognised the young man, whom he regarded as a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Liam wore an enigmatic smile. ‘If I heard you correctly, you were talking about a Miss Hewitt?’
Martin looked to Gideon, who nodded.
So Martin said, ‘Yes. Young Master has been looking for Miss Hewitt for many years.’
‘May I ask why?’
Martin was reluctant to answer, but Gideon didn’t seem to object.
‘She’s Young Master’s beloved.’
Liam cocked an eyebrow.
His smile broadened into a grin.
Beloved?
‘This Miss Hewitt wouldn’t happen to be studying at Stamford University, would she?’ Liam said. ‘And she comes from a small town in the southwest. Am I right?’
Both Gideon and Martin were staring at him.
‘How do you know all this?’
‘Oh, I know more than just her school and her hometown.’ Liam smirked. ‘I know her full name is Kira Hewitt, for example.’
