Annette's face instantly turned grim as a wave of uneasiness washed over her. The arrival of William Tell was disadvantageous for her. This was a man she could not afford to offend.
"Professor William Tell," Eleanor, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up. Her voice was soft but carried an undercurrent of resolve. "This matter isn’t merely a baseless rumor."
William Tell looked at Eleanor, his eyes gentle. "What is it, then?"
Eleanor's gaze sharpened, her expression cold and unyielding. She glanced at Annette and said, "Why don't you ask her?"
At Eleanor’s words, the principal and William Tell turned their attention to Annette.
"Annette, is this matter related to you?" The principal furrowed his brow, genuinely puzzled. Annette was a top student and a genius. He couldn’t believe she would stoop to spreading rumors.
William Tell scrutinized Annette, his gaze penetrating. Annette lifted her eyes slightly, her expression indifferent.
