Eleanor didn’t utter a word, merely pressing her lips together in indifference.
Linet, seeing this, erupted in anger and began screaming,
“What, you have nothing to say?”
Rage boiled within her. Since being sent to the manor, Linet had spent most of her days laboring under the scorching sun, forced to do menial and strenuous tasks. This was a far cry from her previous life, where she didn’t have to lift a finger. Now, not only was she barred from seeing Robert, but she also had to endure this harsh existence.
Despair gripped Linet's heart. The moment she saw Eleanor entering the gate, she had acted on impulse, picking up the nearest flower pot and hurling it at her. She wanted to vent her frustration, hoping to injure Eleanor in the process. If she couldn't have it good, neither should Eleanor!
Eleanor met her gaze, her expression cold and indifferent. "It seems you have too much free time."
