“Robert…” Samuel sneered, though disbelief flickered in his eyes.
He leaned closer to Robert, his voice low, just loud enough for the two of them to hear. Gritting his teeth, he hissed, “Robert, Eleanor is still in my hands. Do you truly not care about her safety?”
Robert remained expressionless. He lowered his gaze slightly, staring at Samuel with cold, steely eyes.
“Or perhaps I should show you someone else. How about that?” His thin lips curled ever so slightly, his tone icy and indifferent.
The intensity of Robert’s demeanor was enough to make Samuel shiver, despite himself.
“Who?” Samuel’s confident facade wavered.
Without bothering to look at Samuel again, Robert turned toward Jacob. The brief exchange between them didn’t go unnoticed by Samuel. Jacob caught Robert’s signal immediately and nodded before walking out of the hall.
