Chapter 324 Clash at the Table

As soon as Eleanor finished speaking, the maids were momentarily stunned. They exchanged uncertain glances, unsure of what to do. After all, they were caught between two powerful forces—on one side, Linda, the Fourth Master's favored guest, and on the other, Eleanor, the mistress of Williams Court. Neither of these women was someone they could afford to offend.

But in the end, they made their choice. Silently aligning with Eleanor, they moved toward the dining table, preparing to remove the dishes one by one.

"Stop it, all of you!" Linda objected immediately. She was picky with her food but hadn't yet eaten her fill. Moreover, having the dishes removed in favor of Eleanor was a public humiliation she refused to tolerate.

The maids, however, paid her no mind. Eleanor had just stood up for them, and their loyalty had naturally shifted toward her. Linda's arrogance, propped up by the Fourth Master's favor, had not earned their respect. Her constant bullying had pushed them too far.
