Leonard placed his phone on the couch, turning his head slightly to study his niece with an unreadable gaze.

"Not bad..."

His eyes narrowed faintly, and a small smile tugged at his lips,

but it was fleeting. The smirk vanished almost as quickly as it had appeared, and he resumed his former unruly posture, directing his attention back to his phone.

For Leonard, fully trusting Eleanor was still out of the question. They

hadn't reached that level of closeness yet. They were far from it.

He always maintained a cold distance from those he wasn’t familiar with, and Eleanor was no exception.
