Robert naturally couldn’t respond to her.

Eleanor silently gazed at him for a while, her eyes fixed on Robert’s face, never wavering. The night was deep, and all was quiet. In this stillness, Eleanor stood by Robert’s side, motionless. Later, exhaustion overcame her, and she fell asleep at the edge of the bed.

When she woke again, sunlight was already seeping in through the window. The day had broken. Eleanor opened her eyes wide and found herself not at the edge of the bed but lying fully on it.

“Awake?” A familiar clear and melodious voice reached her ears, causing her heart to skip a beat.

“Bob?” She hurriedly sat up, her eyes instinctively darting in the direction of the voice. As expected, it was Robert. He stood beside the bed, dressed in clean, tidy clothes. His eyes were clear, his complexion healthy, and his expression calm. He looked at Eleanor silently, a gentle warmth in his gaze.
