"Kun Kun is Actually Right Next to Me?!"
The Kun Kun-style man glanced around, pretending to be shy as he said, "Beautiful lady, are you sure you want to say that in front of so many people?"
Lina: "???"
Everyone: "???"
Luca: "(O_O)?"
What the hell!
This was unexpected, a complete shock!
At first, Luca had been taken aback by the man's actions, thinking he might be preparing to do something impressive. But the Eye of Insight quickly revealed the truth.
[Ordinary Man: Cai Xiao Kun][Race: Human][Affection: Friendly (Although a bit jealous, he seems to still hold a certain fondness for you for some reason)][Strength: Weak (A cat could probably fight better than him)][Preferences: Male-Male (He's more of a defender than an attacker)][Weakness: Weakness is his nature!][Current State: Although he dislikes women, due to Lina's special treatment, he thinks the ghost lady has a unique inclination towards you. To protect himself, he's decided to offer up his 'beauty'... (He's doomed, time to prepare for the end)]
Luca took a few steps back from Cai Xiao Kun, sweating profusely.
A gay man... is right next to me?!
Lina, in her red ghostly attire, slowly stepped forward, her long, delicate fingers curling around a sharp scalpel. Her porcelain face broke into a seductive smile.
Though Luca had no idea what the Kun Kun-style man was about to say, Lina could sense something strange in his gaze. The next moment...
Swish! Swish!
The scalpel seemed to have a life of its own in Lina's hands, expertly cutting through Cai Xiao Kun's skin and muscle with deadly precision. Not a drop of blood stained the blade as she pulled it back.
Clink
Cai Xiao Kun's skeletal frame remained in place, while his body parts—perfectly proportioned—scattered across the floor.
Blood erupted, splattering across the players. It was warm, the shock and horror freezing everyone's hearts.
A severed head rolled across the floor, its eyes wide open in frozen terror.
It rolled right into a female player's path.
"AHHH!!!"
She couldn't hold back any longer and screamed in horror. But then—
Swish!
A flash of the scalpel, and half of her tongue fell to the floor, still twitching.
"Hospital rules prohibit loud noises." Lina's cold voice rang out.
The girl clutched her mouth as blood poured from her lips, the pain overwhelming as she collapsed, convulsing violently.
The events unfolded in an instant, leaving everyone frozen in terror. The brutal reality of this horror game sank in—an innocent life was gruesomely torn apart in front of their eyes.
Fear gripped everyone to their core. They were powerless to do anything. Even Luca, who had two powerful talents, felt the sting of his vulnerability.
His guard was now up higher than ever before.
Lina had given him the opportunity to speak, allowing him to turn the tide and maximize the power of Eye of Insight. But what if some ghosts simply didn't give you a chance?
His mind became razor-sharp.
Being a "Specialized Doctor" doesn't guarantee safety. If a monster doesn't follow the rules, I have no way to defend myself!
Not all monsters abide by hospital rules. I can't just risk my life like that!
I need a plan! I have to come up with a way to secure my own safety!
Luca's thoughts raced, calculating how to stack the odds in his favor. As for feeling sorry for the other players? Helping them out?
Sorry.
In this world of horror games, sympathy and mercy were luxuries that could easily get you killed. Unless you had absolute power, there was no room for kindness.
Suddenly, Luca's gaze landed on the alluring nurse, Lina.
His heart clicked into place.
Use the situation to my advantage!
Lina, the red ghost lady, was the perfect ally in this scenario.
"Change into your uniform and read the temporary worker handbook. You have twenty minutes left."
Lina smoothly tucked away her scalpel, her gaze shifting to Luca. "You, come with me."
Luca immediately followed, leaving the break room under the envious stares of the other players.
In a private consultation room, Luca sat back in an office chair, looking casual.
As they walked, Lina had already outlined what he needed to do. Then, eager to prepare her medicine for her own personal issues, she hurried off. Clearly, "menstrual irregularities" were a real concern for her.
Luca also learned that, as a "Specialized Doctor," his job might not be that busy. With him being human and a doctor in this ghostly hospital, the other ghosts didn't fully trust him, which left him with more free time than expected.
But Luca didn't mind. It gave him plenty of time to think about why there had never been a single survivor in this hospital.
Just as Lina left to grab the medicine, Luca noticed something outside the hospital.
A graceful figure descended from the dark clouds and walked through the main entrance of the Third Hospital.
"Hiss!"
"She's here again!"
"The Rose Countess—has her issue still not been resolved?"
"It looks like the Third Hospital is going to lose another doctor."
"Shh! Don't say that! Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
The strange creatures in line, zombies and odd beasts, all looked at the elegant figure with awe.
She walked with a slow, hypnotic pace, her seductive presence causing the ugly monsters to stay far away.
The Rose Countess.
A well-known figure at the Third Hospital.
Every so often, she'd come here for treatment.
No one knew exactly what illness she had, but every time she came, no doctor who treated her had survived.
The hospital had no way to deal with her.
This meant that whenever the Rose Countess arrived, the hospital would temporarily shut down.
No doctor wanted to take the risk of treating this "death sentence."
In the hospital's meeting room, several newly summoned doctors gathered, their faces pale as they whispered in fear.
"Damn it! What kind of illness does she have? Why does she keep coming back?"
A werewolf doctor's voice trembled with unease.
A green, scarred alchemical human gritted his teeth. "My mentor, Doctor Mundo, died at the Rose Countess's hands. I'm not walking in his footsteps! Chief, where is the director? If this keeps going, the hospital will collapse because of her!"
"That's right! This will cause a huge problem! A hospital without doctors will become a joke!"
The other doctors echoed in frustration.
The handsome, seemingly ordinary chief of staff raised his hand, signaling them to quiet down.
Once the room grew silent, he adjusted his glasses and smiled. "Didn't some new guys arrive at the hospital? One of them seems to have some skills. He earned Lina's trust and became a Special Doctor."
A sinister grin crept across the chief's lips.
"Since that's the case, why not leave the Rose Countess's treatment to him…"
