Li Xiang: Angel of Death

Pale as paper, his body felt like it was possessed by a ghost, with no strength left to move. Yet, the finger that Rose Countess had in her mouth sent a strange, almost pleasurable sensation back to Luca.

It was eerie—confusing, even. He desperately wanted to pull his finger back, but there was an undeniable sense of reluctance, a conflicted feeling that gnawed at him. It was maddening.

Thankfully, Luca's words broke Rose Countess's trance. She stopped draining his blood, but only held his finger in her mouth, savoring the taste of the blood she'd already taken. Her face, beautiful yet unnerving, began to lose the flushed color as she reluctantly released his finger.

Even in his weakened state, Luca couldn't help but straighten up a bit. He wasn't some saint, and certainly not impotent. If Rose Countess presented herself this way, there was no way he wouldn't feel... something. He'd be more concerned if he didn't!

"You know, little one, I'm starting to really like you," Rose Countess purred, her eyes glowing with crimson intensity, sending chills down Luca's spine.

"What are you talking about?" Luca thought, horrified. "You want me to go back to your vampire castle? To become a living blood bank?"

The very thought made his expression darken. "Lady, is this how you treat the person who can cure your illness?" he asked, frustration creeping into his voice.

"Rose Countess, you're going too far!" Lina's voice was icy, her eyes flashing with anger. She wouldn't let someone she respected be treated this way.

Suddenly, the wings on her back unfurled to their full extent, and she was lifted off the ground by an invisible force. A strange energy began to ripple out from her, and the world around them seemed to decay in its wake.

The desk, chairs, and papers visibly withered away, crumbling to dust. Even the blood-red field of energy seemed to fade ever so slightly.

Luca stared, wide-eyed. He hadn't expected Lina— a Red Ghost— to be able to influence Rose Countess's field so strongly.

In the horror world, the gap between different tiers of monsters was like a chasm. For Lina to do this, she must have been something special. And indeed, it soon became clear.

Lina was not just a powerful ghost. She had dual identities, one as a ghost, and another hidden, far more dangerous identity.

After the horror game world descended, some veteran players had begun to gather information. They had learned about special ghosts, beings with dual souls, or those who appeared as inanimate objects but could transform into terrifying creatures.

These special ghosts were exceedingly rare. They were either extraordinarily powerful or possessed unique abilities.

Lina, Luca realized, was one of those rare, special beings— a ghost with a power that could turn the tide in battles that no ordinary ghost could handle.

Luca activated his Insight Eye once again, trying to understand Lina's true nature.

The moment the information appeared, Luca was surprised by what he saw:

[Third Hospital Nurse: Lina]

Race (True Form): Angel of Death (An extremely rare and terrifying ghost that holds the power to bring death and decay to the world.)

Friendliness: Trust (Gaining the trust of a ghost is rare— cherish it.)

Strength: Semi-Bloodline (An unstable state, due to overwhelming power that's difficult to control, especially without the right foundation.)

Likes: Medical Studies, Desiring to Become a Master like Dr. Luca (A change of heart inspired by someone.)

Weaknesses: Legs, Wings (Her wings, which symbolize death, may also bring her own demise.)

Current State: Anger (Unable to stand by as her respected healer suffers. Could there be other factors at play?)

Reading the information, Luca didn't marvel at Lina's power. Instead, he felt a deep sense of gratitude for her concern. Despite being a Red Ghost, Lina was willing to put herself in harm's way to protect him— a human. She was using her dangerous powers to fight Rose Countess, even when it risked her own well-being.

Lina's actions weren't out of stupidity, but something simpler, purer. It wasn't about thinking or scheming. It was the kind of trust that cut through the complexities of human thought. A friend was a friend.

For Luca, who had entered the world of horror with distrust in others, this was a revelation. Monsters, ghosts— they could become allies. And in Lina's case, they could be trusted friends.

"Believe me, Lina, let me handle this," Luca said calmly, his eyes meeting hers with a quiet intensity. The simplicity of his words made her pause, and she immediately felt a sense of peace settle over her.

"Okay," she answered softly.

The moment she spoke, Luca felt her trust deepen even further.

Under the Insight Eye's influence, Lina's trust in him had elevated from simple belief to deep, genuine trust.

Luca smiled faintly. His small acts of kindness had paid off, and Lina's respect for him had grown. She was willing to protect him— no matter the cost.

And with that, Luca knew. He had something rare, something pure, in this world of horror and distrust.
