All Umbra Ashmedai – a little black haired kid, with enchanting features and unsettling cold eyes – ever wanted to do was to live a normal life, as a pseudo beggar and thief, prowling the streets of his new home, alongside his two friends. But clearly, Fate had other cruel plans in store for him.



Umbra always knew that he was incredibly special in some way; he was some superlative magnet for bad luck. He'd thought that he could ignore all the quirky happenings by just fleeing from home.



No luck. If it had been that easy, then Death would have been defeated long ago.



Things happened too fast, and in weeks, Umbra finds himself in a strange kingdom, worshipped and dreaded for bearing strange powers he know nothing about. Discovering yourself as the last descendant of a rare bloodline, famed for bloodshed and no existing shreds of humanity can be a tad unsettling.

But the worse is yet to come.



Sure enough, a strange destiny is thrust upon him, an ancient decree passed down and misinterpreted to his previous ancestors. But in his turn, the prophecy is made pretty clear.



And it's frightening. Although he realizes it late, it still doesn't change the fact that he still have to do it, not as his handpicked mission but as his destiny.
