Chapter 33

July 16th, a cool late afternoon, spending time at a nice house party, that was work related. Yugi worked with a business company that also wanted to expand.

Thus this was the prefect opportunity to do so, and advance his career as well. Yugi was one of the top sale's associates at the company. His boss wanted Yugi to be apart of this.

Yugi felt delighted to be awarded such an honor, and also was said to speak to other businesses whom would perhaps want to collaborate with them.

His boss also informed Yugi to mingle, and get to know other companies, so that he could also cross work with them as well. Yugi was thrilled at this, and since the past several weeks haven't been going swell.

Yugi felt this was a wonderful time, to get away from the whole issue. Things weren't going smoothly with Austin for the past while, and frankly Yugi was about to break up with him again.

Yugi sighed with relief after sealing a deal with one of the local companies in the area. Yugi smiled and the two shook hands before Yugi would walk away.

The male was wearing a white long sleeve collar shirt, with a black vest and black dress pants and shoes. He looked more presentable than he ever would've dreamed.

He supposed he had to give his old job the credit. Every now and then, Yugi would think about his old co workers, and he missed Grim.

Grim was someone Yugi wanted to keep in contact with but because he ran a company for

Yaami Inc. he didn't believe that would ever become possible.

" Hey ! Yug! " someone shouted to him, as Yugi turned around and greeted them with a smile.

However, he shook his head once he saw what the other hand in their hand.

" Really? Please don't get drunk. " Yugi remarked at him, as Sammy chuckled and shrugged.

" Please— this little bitty thing ain't going to do much for me. "

Sammy locking arms with Yugi, as Yugi would hold up his friend. The two walking around slowly in the ballroom area of the mansion.

" Damn— your boss has connection doesn't he. " Sammy asked Yugi quietly.

" Mhm. It's honestly the biggest deal we've had. So he wants to make sure we are sealing as many deals as possible. " Yugi explained.

Sammy nodded.

" Mm— and how many you got so far? "

" Well, I only have two. But I'm sure my co workers have some as well. " Yugi told him.

" You aren't going to work the whole time are you? This is a party after all. " Sam stated as he gripped Yugi's work book.

Yugi holding into the work book, as the two looked at each other in the eyes. Yugi squinting his orbs down a tad, as Sammy did the same.

Yugi would sigh.

" Look— I — "

" You what! " Sammy remarked.

" Don't give me that shit okay, you've been working your ass off the past couple of months! I'm you aren't working, you're at the gym, if not the gym, volunteering at the hospital, if not that you reading or at a museum. " Sammy proclaimed.

Yugi looking away briefly, and back at Sammy as he gave Yugi the same old lecture.

" I mean seriously, when is the last time you and Austin went on a date? Or you spent time with your damn self? " Sammy questioned.

Yugi immediately started to walk away, turning around as Sammy locked arms with him again. The two walking down the hallway, past several other people.

" I don't even wanna speak about Austin... " Yugi said with a dry voice.

Sammy hearing the other's tone shook his head with disgust. Knowing Austin and Yugi weren't the best couple, but he wanted to respect Yugi's decisions.

" Yeah, I never really liked Austin's ugly ass anyways. " Sam would finally confess.

Yugi couldn't help but laugh, at his remark even though Austin and Yugi were dating. He suppose he couldn't disagree with him in the slightest, as Yugi didn't find him all that eye appealing anymore either.

" You never liked anyone I ever dated Sam. " Yugi retorted, as Sammy grin a bit and shrugged.

" That's because you always had shitty taste in men. " Sammy told him.

The afternoon was swiftly going by, as Yugi decided to take a break with his work, and mingle with several other people. Laughing, having a drink or two with them.

Sammy involved sitting beside Yugi, although he didn't know what was being discussed. So he decided to get on his phone awaiting for the business talk to be over.

After a while, a dancing session happened, along with others being able to eat, drink and speak more casually that wasn't business related talk.

Yugi for the first time ever had a very decent time at a party. He was somewhat bummed he didn't bring Austin, but the two of them got into an altercation before today.

Yugi was someone who didn't bring people with him he had an argument with. If they weren't going to be nice and friendly, he wouldn't even tell you to tag along.

Yugi couldn't think of a better person to come with him than Sammy. Sam was Yugi's best friend, and since their boss had told everyone they could bring a friend to the event.

Yugi was more than willing to accept Sammy coming along. Watching from a distance, as Sammy was dancing along with the rest.

Yugi chuckling at how they were moving, and grooving, as Yugi wasn't big on dancing. Holding a drink in hand, as Yugi examined the room around him.

Seeing everyone's face, and laughing and enjoying a good decent time. That was until Yugi orbs shot directly at someone— that almost caused him to have a heart attack and drop his drink.

Yugi orbs dilating, heart skipping over the normal rate, as Yugi locked eyes on Yami. He thought he was seeing a ghost, but when he blinked and looked away, and looked back— seeing it was still him.

Sammy laughing as he got off the dance floor, and went over towards Yugi. Locking arms again as he was starting to talk to Yugi.

" Oh my fucking gosh! Haha- did you see that— the guy was all over dancing crazy, and he twisted his le— " Sammy was trying to say before he realized Yugi wasn't listening.

" Hey? You okay? " Sammy questioned, as he turned his head to look at what Yugi was looking at.

Sammy orbs widened, as he stared at Yami as well.

" Oh... shit. " was all Sammy could speak.
