The air became more tense, but the vibrations reduced. The continued to hum with an unearthly force, and Selene choked as dust settled around them. With his hands gripped hard at his sides and his golden eyes darkened , Asrael stood still.
As Selene approached, terrified of the shadows still prowling the halls, she said to Asrael "Talk to me"
His breathing was slow and his body was slow . Then his gaze shifted to her and as though something in him cracked
"I did something terrible"
🔥 Fragments of a Forgotten Past 🔥
Power surged though the room and his mind was suddenly attacked by visions flashes of different era and existence. Blood stained hands. His real name was called by a voice ,Pain ,betrayal
Asrael stumbled and fell
Selene caught him before he collapsed, holding onto him tightly. "What do you see? What's coming back to you?"
His voice was hoarse, almost broken. "A war… a choice… I betrayed someone. Or maybe, I was betrayed. It's all fragmented." His fingers dug into his palms, frustration radiating from him like heat. "But one thing is clear… they didn't want me to remember."
🔥 The Shadows Stir 🔥
The ruins groaned in protest, as if resisting his recollection. The ancient symbols that had once glowed so fiercely now flickered erratically, as if fighting against something unseen. The voice from before returned, harsher this time, more desperate.
"The forsaken one must not remember! You were never meant to awaken!"
Selene braced herself as the room darkened, the shadows shifting violently. She turned sharply, daggers at the ready. "Then they must really hate us for breaking their rules."
A chuckle rumbled from Asrael's chest, dark and humorless. "I suppose we're not the obedient kind."
🔥 The Price of Awakening 🔥
Before Selene could respond, the ground beneath them trembled again. But this time, it wasn't just the ruins shaking. A figure emerged from the darkness—cloaked in shifting shadows, eyes burning with an unnatural light.
"You were warned," the figure rasped. "Now, you must face the consequences."
Selene positioned herself in front of Asrael instinctively, her body tense. "And what consequences would those be?"
The figure's gaze fixed on Asrael. "You will return what was taken. Or you will be consumed."
Asrael straightened, his golden eyes flaring. "I don't think so."
Without another word, the ruins erupted with light and shadow, a battle of power igniting around them. The past was clawing its way back, and with it came a reckoning neither of them was prepared for.
