What would you do if you suddenly found yourself inside the world of a novel you once read?
Exciting, right? And who wouldn't? That is… unless you were thrown in just moments before everything went shit—right when the worst events were about to unfold. And to make things worse, your role in the story? Nothing more than an extra, destined to perish within the first three chapters.
How would you react?
First, you'd curse the heavens, demanding to know why you were put through this nightmare. Then, you'd deny reality, convincing yourself it's all just a bad dream. But as the chaos unfolds around you, dread sets in, and eventually… you accept it.
And it is what I was doing.
Now the real question is—how do you survive?
"F**k!"

"You bunch of ruffians! Don't think I don't know it was Eric who told you to do this! Release me now, otherwise I will … mm mmf mmfff—"
A woman's scream jolted a young man awake from his drowsy state. As he regained his senses, a wave of disbelief washed over him.
Didn't I just died?
This was a suite in a hidden corner of a hotel.
On the large bed in the suite, an absolutely stunning woman was tightly bound and thrown onto it. Her mouth was gagged, preventing her from speaking clearly. Even in her disheveled state, her breathtaking beauty couldn't be concealed.
"Eric?" Alex quietly mulled over the name he had just heard, a hint of astonishment flashing in his eyes.
"Eric?! Isn't that the villain from the urban novel I was reading just moments before my death?! Then this stunning beauty who has been kidnapped—she must be the female protagonist, Emily, from that novel!"
The scene before him was exactly the one from the original novel—where the villain, Eric, driven by his twisted love for Emily, tried to kidnap and assault her!
"No! It can't be... Transmigration?
Me? In this world? In this story?
Hah… then who am I?
Which character have I become? A hero? A villain? A mere extra? Or—worst of all—the fool who dies in the beginning of the novel?"
At that moment, a rough-looking man—who had just managed to quiet Emily down—spoke to Alex, panting:
"Brother Alex, this girl is all yours. The young master will be here soon. I need a break—this girl is really a handful!"
With that, the man grumbled and walked out of the room, leaving Alex alone with the bound and struggling Emily.
"So, I am Alex?"
(Damn it! Didn't this character die in the first three chapters?
What do I do?
Should I just run away?
No—I can't! Not only is Eric coming soon, but the police and the protagonist will arrive right after him! Once things go south, Eric will run away, leaving behind his lackey—me—to take the fall for him!
Think, think! How do I survive in a story where I was never meant to?)
In the novel, although Emily was certain that Eric was behind this, Eric's wealthy and powerful family would easily frame someone like Alex as the scapegoat!
Thinking of this, Alex stared at the tightly bound Emily on the bed, lost in thought.
He knew the plot of the original novel inside out. He knew that if things kept progressing as they were, he was dead for sure! To prevent the situation from spiraling out of control, Eric's father would later have him poisoned in his jail cell.
Like hell he's going to let that happen!
Then suddenly, Alex had an idea!
"Wait a minute! I'm here on orders from Eric's father, Mr. Rayden!"
That's right! Alex wasn't just a low-level lackey of Eric; he had another identity—he was a man personally sent by Eric's father, Mr. Rayden, to support his son!
And Alex knew that because the trouble caused by kidnapping Emily—the only heiress of the Smith Group—was too big, Mr. Rayden would later lock Eric up for a whole month!
In other words—Mr. Rayden completely disapproved of Eric's actions!
"Snap!" Alex snapped his fingers.
"Abusing power! Using Eric's father's authority to suppress Eric! After all, isn't this exactly what lackeys in novels are supposed to do?"
Alex decided to maintain this 'professional attitude'—to ensure that he wouldn't end up as a scapegoat!
Meanwhile, Emily's heart pounded violently.
Tears welled in her eyes as she struggled on the bed. She suddenly noticed that the man left behind by the kidnappers was now slowly walking toward her.
Seeing this, her heart instantly filled with dread!
She struggled even more fiercely, her wary gaze scanning Alex up and down.
Then, in a flash of cold steel, she saw him draw a gleaming knife from his waist!
In Emily's eyes, the man now resembled a grim reaper about to take her life.
She shook her head repeatedly, her eyes shifting from anger to fear to pleading.
However, the man before her showed no sign of mercy.
He swiftly raised the knife.
With a swush!
Emily immediately froze in place.

Outside the room—
A lackey urgently reported:
"Young Master! Emily has been captured and is inside the room!"
A gloomy voice, tinged with doubt, asked:
"Emily!"
Trembling, the lackey quickly corrected himself:
"Young Master! Ms. Emily has been captured and is inside the room!"
The voice on the other side remained silent for a moment before asking,
"Did you handle things cleanly?"
"Clean! For some reason, Ms. Emily didn't have her bodyguards with her. She was alone, shopping in the mall. So, we took the chance and nabbed her in the restroom."
"Good! Hahaha!"
A sinister, crazed laugh echoed through the hallway.
Finally !!" The voice came closer, filled with a twisted excitement. "After tonight, I will leave this woman no choice but to accept me! She, who has always looked down on me, will soon be crawling under my feet and begging me!"
As soon as these words were spoken—
Bang!!
With a loud crash, the door to the room was violently kicked open!
From there, a young man, around 25 or 26 years old, with a pale, sickly face tinged with a feverish flush, strode into the room with three lackeys trailing behind him.
This man was—
Eric!
But the moment he stepped inside, the smile on Eric's face froze.
His eyes widened in fury.
He roared in anger:
"WHERE IS SHE?!"
