Underground Station

The city gathers a busy crowd as the day continues. After a visit to the vinyl shop, the group enters a path, stairs that leads them towards the underground. The ambience begins to muffle further down, where only footsteps of men and women encompasses. Upon the halfway mark, the group had witnessed guards passing through the tunnel, this nervous chill entered them before a sigh of relief.

As they began to exit out of this long entrance, they arrived at a train station. The overwhelming cast of gateways and digital screens surround the area, and for a moment, would be confusing to the unfamiliar if they did not follow the lines that lead them to their destination.

Theo asked Eugene, "You know where to go, right?"

Eugene replied, "Of course. I always follow the red line."

Eugene leads the way, and as they walk, Theo begins to question. "So... how long have you been here for?" He says as they walk downstairs.

Eugene returns the answer with, "Two years."

"Really?" Theo questions more.

"When I worked with other Executioners, they gave me guides to different areas, and which train to catch in what terminal."

"I didn't know they would help you willingly." Theo began to retort.

"You'd be surprised how vulnerable they can be with others in the same field."

The group navigates their way through the row of trains that allocate themselves in terminals, with each unique destination, not a single train stops in the same area as the other. When it does end up in the last stop, it reverses back and stops in different areas, before it begins to repeat the process all the way to the main station.

Before them was a security check in every terminal, ensuring no weapons were allowed inside the vicinity. They bypass this by smuggling it through affiliates of The Underworld who play the part as an electrician, an engineer, or a construction worker. Executioners, however, must know the phrase or comment that they have been given by the affiliates to proceed orders.

Approaching one that was on their left, a small entrance that blocks the guard's view, a woman who stands outside of the bathroom door, Audra whispers to the fake employee, "What do you think of... Watermelon feta salad?"

"That is disgusting, Iroquois." The employee revolted at this food combination. She gestures to them to show their identification before following orders and comments more on this weird food, "But then again... I've heard that fruits and cheese go well together, but.. that's not my kind of thing I would snack on."

"That's fair." She passes her weapon discreetly while others do the same, as the employee gives them to her men behind her.

"We'll see you in a few moments. We'll drop them off at the designated area." The employee looks over to her shoulder where the rest of the workers entered a bathroom to conceal the weapons.

Audra, Theo, and Eugene all went together to pass through the security check. It scans their bodies to verify nothing illicit or illegal were being carried over. Once it's over, they continue to walk through the terminal.

Theo was curious and continued on the conversation with Eugene. "So how did you get them on your side?" Asking to seek answers from him.

"Um... I guess people seem to..." He said, as he tried to come up with answers.

"To...?"

"See me as trustworthy. I suppose."

"Maybe it's the looks. Kind of jealous." He smirks.

Eugene had paused and thought about it, and finally said, "Perhaps. But I think it's the fact that if you get to know someone more than yourself, they will give you what you need."

Theo replied, "I see."

Theo came to a halt before continuing on the same pace with Eugene, "Don't you... want them to know you?"

"Why should they?" Eugene answers, and Theo was left with no comment on it, left confused.

Audra, who is way ahead of the group, announces, "Guys, Terminal Four's train will arrive in a few moments. We have time to just chill."

As they sat down on a bench, awaiting their train, Audra on the left side was seen playing with her lighter on her left hand, with the thumb fidgeting the lid, while the other was holding a cigarette in-between her middle and index finger. As she dozes off, Theo, who was on the right side, looks over to his left to see her attempting to light up her cigarette.

"Aren't you glad the station lets you smoke?" Theo groans.

"Glad they don't care about its people as much." Audra coughs up a smoke.

"You were a freelancer. Right, Eugene?" Asks Audra.

Eugene looks over to her and answers, "Still am. What of it?"

She says, "Must be a long contract for you to be with us for a while now. Laura kept you in this for a year now?"

"She stopped paying. I think... a couple months ago."

"So what's stopping you from joining another group? You're not getting paid now unless..."

Eugene hesitates before he makes a response, "I guess... I got nowhere else to go."

Audra raised her eyebrow, "Come on, The Underworld's got a lot of groups waiting to gain another member, there are too many openings."

Eugene understood that she was right. The Underworld have garnered a lot of groups that are eager to hire or enroll killers. He shrugs it off and patiently waits for the train that is slowing down to rest.

Audra went back to her previous comment and added, "Unless you have something in mind, we won't stop you."

The group stood up altogether as the train came to a stop, with its doors beginning to open. Beforehand, a voice from the station's speakers tells them that Terminal Four's gates will be opening and advises them to stand clear of people exiting out. The gates slide downwards, with everyone inside rushing out, Audra, Theo, and Eugene gently push through them, heading inside the train to catch Monsoon.

At a distance, someone watches over them.
