Chapter 33: No One is Irreplaceable

The locker room was unusually quiet. The tension in the air was thick—Isaac Morgan's departure had left a mark. Some players sat in silence, processing the news. Others whispered in hushed tones, speculation filling the spaces between words.

Daisuke stood at the front of the room, arms crossed. He scanned the faces of his team, searching for any sign of doubt, hesitation, or resentment. He didn't have time for uncertainty.

He exhaled sharply. "Let's be clear about something. If anyone else wants to leave, do it now. I won't stop you."

A few heads lifted in surprise.

"This club is built on loyalty, ambition, and hard work. If you're here, you give everything. If you're looking for an easy way out, the door is open."

Silence. No one moved.

Daisuke nodded. "Good. Then let's move forward."

With the distractions out of the way, it was time to focus on what they had.

Goalkeepers:

Ethan Carter – Reliable, commanding in the box.

Riku Watanabe – Young but improving.

Defenders:

Kenji Nakamura (Captain) – Leader, heart of the defense.

Thiago Mendes – Aerial dominance, physical presence.

Leo Park – Versatile, quick decision-maker.

Ryan Holt – Dependable full-back.

Takeshi Fujimoto – Explosive pace, offensive-minded.

Midfielders:

Koji Tanaka – Creative playmaker, orchestrates attacks.

Matías Herrera – Defensive enforcer, breaks opposition momentum.

Shun Takahashi – Emerging talent, technical brilliance.

Forwards:

Felix Andersson – Clinical finisher, ice-cold under pressure.

Miguel Rojas – Trickster, unpredictable on the wing.

Jinwoo Han – Silent but deadly inside the box.

The lineup was solid. But losing Isaac Morgan hurt—he was a key piece in midfield, a player who could dictate tempo with his passing.

Daisuke turned to his coaching staff. "We need solutions."

Two weeks ago, Daisuke received a message from his assistant.

"Isaac's agent wants to meet."

Daisuke knew what that meant.

At a small office in Blackhaven's training facility, he faced Isaac and his agent. The agent wasted no time.

"Everton wants him. They're offering a better salary, better exposure. He's ready to move."

Daisuke turned to Isaac. "Is that what you want?"

Isaac hesitated, but then nodded. "Yeah. I have to take this chance."

There was no malice in his voice, just conviction. But to Daisuke, it didn't matter.

"Then go."

Isaac looked taken aback. "That's it?"

Daisuke leaned forward. "I don't beg players to stay. Blackhaven FC doesn't rely on one man."

The meeting ended. Two days later, Everton announced the signing.

Back in the present, Daisuke turned to his staff.

"We need to fill the gap. Matías Herrera will take over defensive midfield, and we'll adjust Koji's role slightly."

His assistant nodded. "Shun Takahashi is developing fast. He could be the wildcard."

Daisuke smirked. "Then we push him harder."

They also needed reinforcements. Scouts were dispatched—they couldn't afford another surprise exit.

At the next training session, the intensity was different. The players understood—Daisuke wasn't here to plead.

He was here to win.

And if Blackhaven FC was going to compete at the highest level, they had no choice but to adapt.

Because no one was irreplaceable.
