Chapter 110

### **Chapter 110**

After learning that the Lunarian bloodline in his body had begun to awaken, Carl still had one more thing to confirm.

He glanced down at the scarred left side of his chest and said,

"Vegapunk, I have two kinds of Green Blood in my body, right?"

Vegapunk nodded without hesitation. He had been the one to provide the two types of Green Blood to Darian.

Carl continued,

"Green Blood can not only carry bloodline factors but also the power of Devil Fruits—the Lineage Factors of Devil Fruits, right?"

Vegapunk was momentarily stunned. But as sharp as he was, he quickly understood what Carl was implying. Hesitantly, he asked,

"Saint Carl, are you asking if you can eat another Devil Fruit?"

Carl shook his head and held up two fingers.

"No, two."

"...Theoretically, it should be possible," Vegapunk admitted. "But it's too risky! If something goes wrong, your body could collapse!"

Carl laughed.

"Collapse? I've been through that once before. It won't hurt to try again."

Vegapunk swallowed nervously.

"But why take such a risk? With your status, almost no one in this world can threaten you!"

"Who complains about having too much strength?" Carl countered. "Let me ask you—can the two batches of Green Blood in my body carry the Lineage Factor of Devil Fruits?"

"Yes," Vegapunk admitted reluctantly. "In fact, back then, Saint Darian wanted to add the Lineage Factor of Devil Fruits into the Green Blood, but I stopped him. As you know, just two bloodline factors nearly caused your body to collapse. Adding the Lineage Factor of a Devil Fruit would have been too much for you."

Carl smiled slightly.

"Well, you were right, and in a way, you saved my life."

If Darian had indeed injected Green Blood containing the Lineage Factor of Devil Fruits into Carl back then, his already fragile body would have disintegrated. He would have died without any chance of recovery.

Carl looked at Vegapunk deeply.

"I really should thank you. Tell you what—when I return, I'll ask the World Government to allocate funds to your hometown, Baldimore, for development."

Vegapunk's face lit up with joy.

Before he could respond, Carl summoned the Dark Bible and pulled out a Devil Fruit, shoving it into Vegapunk's hands.

It was the Persian Cat Fruit—a relatively useless fruit for Carl.

"Don't get too happy yet," Carl said. "This is just an ordinary Zoan-type Devil Fruit. Now, take some of my blood and inject the Lineage Factor of this fruit into it. Let's see what happens."

As he spoke, Carl relaxed and scratched his arm with a finger wrapped in Haki. A trace of blood spilled from the wound. His body was now so strong that regular swords and guns couldn't pierce his skin, so he had to injure himself deliberately.

Vegapunk quickly collected the blood in a test tube and placed the Persian Cat Fruit into a machine. The glass cover of the device began to rotate, extracting the juice from the fruit and reducing it to a purple liquid.

After a few minutes, the machine stopped, and Vegapunk extracted a small vial of dark purple fluid.

Carl looked at the tiny amount of liquid and asked,

"Is that all?"

Vegapunk nodded, holding the vial carefully.

"This is the Lineage Factor of the Devil Fruit purified from the fruit. Only this much can be extracted from a single fruit."

"Why not use the juice directly for the experiment?"

"No. The experiment only involves a small amount of your blood, not a complete organism. There would be no reaction between the two."

Carl leaned in, inspecting the vial.

"Can this purified Lineage Factor of Devil Fruits be used on inanimate objects? Like weapons—swords or guns?"

Vegapunk looked surprised but nodded.

"I've had similar ideas, but I haven't had the resources to experiment yet. Devil Fruits are too rare to use for trials."

Carl thought for a moment.

"If you need Devil Fruits, just let Saturn know. I'll make sure you get some for your research. I'm quite interested in the results."

Vegapunk's smile widened at Carl's offer.

Although Carl had threatened him before, he had also spared his life.

Carl was unlike any Celestial Dragon Vegapunk had ever met. At the very least, Carl was… reasonable, in his own way.

His smile, however, seemed to annoy Carl.

"Stop grinning and get to work," Carl snapped. "I need results fast. Uncle Garling is waiting for me to return for dinner."

"Ah, my apologies, Saint Carl!" Vegapunk quickly turned his attention back to the experiment.

After a few moments of preparation, he injected the Lineage Factor of the Devil Fruit into the blood sample and placed it under a microscope. The results appeared on a screen.

Carl stood behind him, peering at the display, but couldn't make sense of it.

"What do you see? Anything unusual?"
