Cooking food is all about passion, especially if you’re a holder of Michelin Stars. That's how Rafael Levi, a 10-star holder, overworked himself to his death. The next moment, he opened his eyes again, he was no longer on the Earth but in a completely different world.
He was reincarnated into another planet that favored magic over food the most. He took over the body of an unnamed youth who was half of his original age and magicless.

My restaurant was recognized and had a 5-star Michelin rating. I've also been awarded as the chef of the year for six consecutive years since I started cooking. You could say, I'm a perfectionist and my food should be before, making sure my patron would love it. I'm particular about my ingredients, and I love them being fresh.

I close my restaurant for two months every year to create a new recipe, mastering it and then perfecting it. I work hard for every food I serve.

Like this day, it's our second day since. We opened the restaurant. I haven't rested well. To think that most of the biggest chefs, my seniors, and the top critics were all scheduled to come today, I didn't sleep a wink due to nervousness and the preparations.

"Hey! I want that cucumber in thin slices. Hanna! What did I tell you? Rose, no! Don't boil the vegetables for too long! And Anton-"

Suddenly, everything around me started to spin. I barely heard my chefs' voices before I passed out.

That's all I remember until I woke up. I woke up in a younger body whom I did not recognize.

Suddenly, a white-like menu screen appeared before me.

"Hello, Welcome to the World of Meril, Rafael. You would still retain your memories and your talent in cooking, but you will start from the beginning."

"Huh? What do you mean? World of Meril? Start from the start? What the hell is going on?"

"First of all, let me explain. And please stop panicking."

"How could I stop myself from panicking if something impossible happened? First, I was about to prepare my food that was supposed to be served today and second, why am I not in my body?"

"That's because you died. You abused your body. Over-exhaustion. And because of that, I needed to reincarnate you into someone else's body."

"And who are you to do that? Are you a God!?"

"Technically, yes. And I am talking to you via this screen that would be your guide. I pity you for your sudden death. That's why I have given you a chance. And this time do not abuse yourself. Rest if you must."

I was confused but the fact I was in another body, I knew everything was happening right now.

"So, what should I do here? You said I'll start from scratch but I still cook?"

"Yes, since you still have your memories. But like I said, you will be starting from scratch. No fancy restaurant design, no shou chefs. It's just you literally doing everything and you will be guided by a system to become the ultimate Gourmet King."

"I'll leave everything to the system. It'll guide you. Goodluck, Rafael."

The white screen vanished.
