V2/Chapter: 2 I need power
After leaving Dr. Mei's office, Ai Yue did not rush to the address sent to him by Elysia. Instead, he walked towards a remote corner of the Fire Moth headquarters.
Pardofelis's dormitory is right there.
Ever since the trial ended peacefully three days ago, Ai Yue has never seen Pardofelis again. Of course, this does not mean that there is a problem with the other party's safety. On the contrary, it is because she is too safe that Pardofelis has been avoiding him.
Thinking of this, Ai Yue couldn't help scratching his head.
To be fair, what he did was indeed not fair. The letter that he asked Pardofelis to find in the compartment of his bedroom closet was actually prepared specifically for her. As long as Pardofelis found Eden with the letter, and the latter read the contents of the letter, she would help protect Pardofelis.
With the other party's status as a world-class superstar, it was more than enough for her to protect Pardofelis, an ordinary soldier. However, such behavior obviously hurt Pardofelis a little. After all, she originally did it to help Ai Yue, but she didn't expect that she would become a burden in the end.
That's why Ai Yue hasn't been able to find Pardofelis in these three days. She's so elusive that even Prometheus can't fully map out her movements in the Fire Moth base.
Prometheus even felt frustrated about this and submitted a report yesterday on updating the surveillance network of the Fire Moth base, which seemed to require the installation of surveillance cameras in toilet cubicles and locker rooms.
Of course, this outrageous report was not approved by Ai Yue in the end.
Now three days have passed. Based on Ai Yue's understanding of Pardofelis, even if she was still upset, she should have calmed down by now. It's a good opportunity to take her to meet the other Fusion Warrior.
However, when he arrived at Pardofelis's dormitory, he found it empty.
"You are Dr. Ai Yue, are you here to see Pardofelis?" Two women wearing beautiful dresses who were about to attend the dance called Ai Yue. "We are Pardofelis's teammates, and we often hear her mention you."
"Hello." Ai Yue nodded as a greeting, "Is she still sleeping?"
The two people opposite looked at each other and couldn't help showing strange expressions, "Don't you know? Pardofelis hasn't returned to the dormitory in the past two days."
Then, Ai Yue got an unexpected place from the two people.
Training room.
The training area for ordinary soldiers is located next to the dormitory area, which is convenient for their daily use. At this moment, only three or four rooms in the entire training area have lights on.
"The room that requires Caroline's ID card is the first one on the left, ten meters ahead." Prometheus guided Ai Yue in the direction and said, "It turns out that Pardofelis didn't use her own ID card, so we couldn't find her. I don't think it's because of my lack of ability."
She is still upset about this matter.
"Speaking of which, there should be surveillance cameras here, right?" Ai Yue said as he walked, "Can't you access the surveillance?"
"The monitoring circuit in Training Area C has malfunctioned due to the invasion of the Herrscher of Sentience. It has not been repaired these days because of the holiday." Prometheus sighed, "You told me before that Pardofelis has good luck. I have always found it difficult to understand the concept of luck, but now I finally have a vague understanding of it."
Ai Yue was not surprised by this—Pardofelis's good luck could even work on the Cocoon of the End, let alone an artificial intelligence?
As he spoke, he had already pushed open the training room that Pardofelis was using. In the empty space, a girl with short flaxen hair was lying on the ground. She was sweating all over and gasping for breath, obviously having gone through a series of fierce battles.
Not far from her, a scarred training robot also fell to the ground, obviously it had also gone through some torture.
Seeing someone come in, Pardofelis first took a subconscious look, and after finding out that the person was Ai Yue, she immediately turned around and faced Ai Yue with her back, as if she still had some resentment about what happened before.
"Are you still angry?" Ai Yue picked up a towel from the shelf nearby, walked over, sat down, and helped the girl wipe the sweat off her face and neck. "I was wrong about this matter. I apologize to you. Please forgive me?"
"I'm not angry," Pardofelis was angry and wanted to get away from Ai Yue, but she was exhausted at the moment and was held down by Ai Yue, so she could only wriggle on the ground like a caterpillar, "Brother Yue, you idiot!"
How could she bear to be angry with Ai Yue? From beginning to end, Pardofelis was only angry with herself.
She was angry that she was too weak and had no way to help Ai Yue, and she even asked Ai Yue to consider a way out for her in advance. In this way, not only was she unable to help at all, but she became a burden instead.
Pardofelis, who once struggled to survive alone on Twilight Street, knew very well that living with a burden was a terrible thing.
She was not worried that Ai Yue would abandon her, but precisely because of this, she could not enjoy his protection with peace of mind.
'If only I could be a little more useful, even if it was just to stop people from worrying...'
"Okay, let's stop making trouble and go back." Ai Yue forcibly held down the struggling Pardofelis and picked her up. "Some things can't be forced, Pardo."
"Brother Yue, what do you mean?" Pardofelis raised her head and glared at Ai Yue, her face flushed with anger. "I won't stay this weak forever! I don't want to be a burden to you!"
"Pardo." Hearing this, Ai Yue suddenly became serious. He put Pardo down, looked into her eyes, and said seriously, "You have never been a burden. You are my anchor. Do you understand?"
Perhaps because the system was too powerful, Ai Yue often had an illusion that he was living in a game. When that feeling appeared, he would easily ignore other people's feelings and forget that everyone in this world had their own unique life, and was not just some data used to decorate the world.
Every time this happened, Ai Yue's memory of when he first came to this world and was rescued by Pardofelis reminded him not to get lost in that powerful force.
At that time, Ai Yue had not yet been able to use the system's capabilities to live a good life, so the two of them often shared the same canned food, fought for the only quilt that could keep them warm, and took shelter from the rain together under the bridge. Although these were all very difficult memories, thinking about them now makes people happy.
However, Pardofelis obviously could not understand Ai Yue's complicated psychological activities. She just nodded half-heartedly, while thinking in her mind what "cat dots" were.
"No more talking, go back and take a shower." Ai Yue took this opportunity to disrupt Pardofelis's thoughts and pushed her out, "I'll take you to eat something delicious later."
But then again, at this point, we should indeed plan carefully how to improve the overall strength of the Fire Moth.
While Ai Yue was helping the weak-legged Pardofelis out of the training area, he was outlining a new plan in his mind.
