A Choice Beyond Annihilation – The Kran’s New Purpose

In the ruins of Khar'Zun, a few Kran survivors remained. Wounded, broken, abandoned by their gods of war. They had lost everything.

The old Vale might have ordered their execution.

But Vale was not just a conqueror. He was a ruler.

The Kran had proven themselves fearless warriors. That fearlessness could be shaped, reforged, given purpose.

And so, he made a decision that shocked his own generals.

Vale stood before the remaining Kran, their leader a scarred, beaten warlord barely standing.

"You lost," Vale said. "Your empire is gone. Your people are nothing."

The Kran warlord, blood dripping from his cracked scales, managed a defiant glare. "Then finish it."

Vale shook his head. "No."

The warlord's gaze flickered in confusion.

"The weak are erased. But the strong endure," Vale continued. "If you kneel, if you swear loyalty to the Dominion, your species will live. Not as rulers, not as warriors of conquest—but as the first vassals of Earth."

Silence fell over the ruined battlefield.

The Kran had known only war. Only dominance or death.

But Vale was offering them something new.

A future.

Some Kran refused. They chose honor in death. And Vale granted them their wish.

But others knelt.

For the first time in their history, the Kran bowed to another power.

And thus, the first vassals of the Starborne Dominion were born.

They would not just be subjects.

They would be Earth's Gate.

Kran Space – The Gateway of the Dominion

The Kran Dominion would serve as humanity's first trade sector, a buffer between Earth and the other alien species.

In Vale's calculating mind, the Kran would become:

Gate Keepers – The first line of defense against any external threat beyond the Dominion.

Trading Bastions – A controlled zone where alien species could interact with humanity—but only on Vale's terms.

An Example to the Galaxy – The first race to kneel before humanity, proving to all others that submission was possible.

"Aegis," Vale said, watching as the first Dominion banners were raised on Khar'Zun. "This will be more than just a gate."

"Clarify, Imperator."

Vale's eyes gleamed. "It will be the first gate of our empire. And the Kran will be its keepers."

And so, the Kran did not perish.

They became the shield and sword of the Dominion's outer worlds.

The Unbreakable Gate of the Dominion

As the final keystones of Vale's Wall were placed, the Imperator stood aboard the central command fortress, gazing at the defensive colossus stretching across space.

The space before him was no longer open and unclaimed.

It was his.

Aegis' voice echoed in his mind.

"The Wall is operational. The Dominion's boundaries are secured. No fleet will cross without our knowledge."

Vale did not immediately respond. His silver eyes swept across the void, where the ruins of Kran space now stood as a permanent warning.

His war had not just conquered.

It had redrawn the shape of the galaxy.

The Xel'Thir would see this. The other alien races would see this.

And they would understand.

Aegis processed the moment of silence. Then, a simple inquiry.

"Understand what, Imperator?"

Vale turned, his black cape flowing behind him, his voice absolute.

"That humanity does not share. But it rules."

The first true wall of the Dominion was complete.

The galaxy had been divided.

And Vale's word was law.
