Uncomfortable Winter.

I woke up caused by the sound of the busy streets where people ran to go somewhere important, people who shout to promote the business of their, sound of laugh, shout, scream of joy because of an engagement, cry of joy...

I despise it, i never experienced this when i was young even my girlfriend didn't experience it with me, she says its her family, job, and her friends in truth it was a lie except for her family...

I felt sadness,loneliness and silence..

I rise up from my bed got close to my table that was with a bottle of vodka, i took a shot of glass i drank it slowly and noticing how the glass keep feeling colder and colder as time pass.

I opened the window and put the bottle of vodka next to the window and cover it for people to not notice and i let cold fresh air enter the room making the temperature drastically get colder..

I close the window slightly for cold air to enter and i go down the stairs and prepare a warm water to bath in.

I enter the tub i enter it and felt the difference of the temperature which made me feel relaxed by it...

I remembered something the bottle of vodka i took the towel next to the door and cover myself it was long towel to cover my whole self.

I climb the stairs and got the bottle of vodka and close the door cause i was wet at that time and a cold air entered the room making me shivered in cold.

I go down i aswell got a glass to use to take a shot of vodka and got back into the tub drinking the vodka making me more relaxed..

"Ah.. This is the best.." i said in a relaxed tone and with joy.

Clack!

Screeching door..

Then i heard the door clack open and the screeching of the door making it obvious that it was not done by the wind..

I submerged myself in the water leaving the glass of vodka and the bottle..

Then i heard a faint voice i was submerged at that time..

I hear the footsteps of something that cane be done only with flesh and water making a sound that i can hear and it was loud and it was getting closer to the tub..

I heard the voice of a women that said..

"Ah.. vo---" said by the women that broken into my none really mine house ah whats with that repetitive sentence lets just say it no house since i really have no house this house is not mine..

The thing the women said was cutten of by the water clogging my ear..

Some big thing fall unto the tub making me lost breath making me almost lost consciousness i panicked so i emerged and i gasp for air..

Then i felt something which was a flesh that came to my face making me lost consciousness..

What the fuck is happening am i gonna die, im i gonna finally rest in peace?

Cold water came upon my body..

Is this what it feels after death..

Another flesh that give something like a whipping feeling when i was a child back then after doing something ridiculous–i woke up...

My face gave of a disgusted look something that also gave of with a horrified expression..

"Y-y-you what the f-fuck are you doing naked!" i said with a suprised voice and then covered my face and curled myself like a dog..

"Shut the fuck up, look at yourself your naked as well!"

I gasp, i stood up and ran upstair slipping in every step caused by embarrassment...

I took some clothes pants and a shirt with a hurry expression.

"Shit! Shit! Shiiiiiit! What the fuck is that lady doing without clothes!?"

I grabbed extra pants and shirt and throw it downstair shouting

"Heres some clothes dumbass!"

There was no response i go down stairs and i saw the lady laying on the floor..

I got closer tapping her with my toes saying "Hey bitch are you dead?"

I sat down touching her hair it was smooth.

I lifted her up and it was a struggle because i never carried a women like this.. And she have nothing making me touch her skin!

AHHH! What the hell im getting into at this point! I throw her to the couch and throw her the clothes again..

I go to the bathroom to get the bottle of vodka but the content was gone...

What the fuck.....

I go to the kitchen grabbing the bottle of vodka i throw it to the trash and got myself a martini and got some ingredients then made a mix drink that made it fitted to the cold weather.

I sat down next to the girl in the couch looking up making myself wonder who the fuck is this lady cause if so the lady would've have not enter the house of someone else without knowing the person plus! She is naked or did she have a coat..

I drink the mix drink i made slowly and the ice that touch my lips making a tingling pain caused by the cold of the ice but i didn't care.. I drank it until the mix drink was finished leaving only some fewer ice.

I hear a soft groan making the thoughts of mine go away making my attention focus on the women..

"Where am i?" the women said softly

Then i hear a loud gasp coming from the women next to me..

"Go upstair and clothe yourself its cold" i said with a straight forward tone while i am looking up..

"What did you do to me!" she said in a panic tone.

"Do you remember what you did dumbass? You entered my house and got to the bathroom drank the whole bottle of vodka jumped into the tub making me almost suffocated slapped the living shit out of me woke me up i go up got clothes and some extra for you to see you laying down in the floor i put you into the couch throw you the clothes that manage to cover you with the clothe some how that didn't make sense for me i go to the kitchen made a mix drink i drank it until ice is left you woke up while i am thinking what the hell are you doing in my house thats all"

"Damn" said by the lady i saw her getting upstairs.

I look back to the glass of the drink i made and seeing the ice melted again and to the bathroom.

The women got down and closer to me and jumping into me so i gave a horrified look and i dodge her making me almost hurting me with the sides of the table..

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!"

"What aren't you the one who took care of me?"

"Thats a weird ass sentence i dont need rewards okay?" i said.

"What's wrong with it seeing a lady jump into you?" she said.

"Okay, for now dont fucking jump out of nowhere shit i might get a broken limb because of you." i replied

She looked at me for a moment before responding.

"Vera."

"Vera what?"

She shrugged. "Just Vera."

I narrowed my eyes. "Right. Vera, do you make it a habit of breaking into strangers' homes and ruining their drinks?"

She tilted her head. "Not really. But yours looked warm."

I stared at her, dumbfounded. "That's the dumbest reason I've ever heard."

"Well, it's true," she grinned. "I was cold. Saw a nice, warm house. Decided to make myself at home."

"By getting naked?" I deadpanned.

She waved her hand dismissively. "Relax, it's not like you haven't seen a naked woman before."

I felt my face twitch. "That's not the point!"

She chuckled again, clearly enjoying my frustration.

I groaned, deciding that engaging with her any further was just going to drain what little patience I had left. Instead, I stood up and went to grab another drink from the kitchen, ignoring her amused gaze.

I poured myself a stronger mix this time, taking a slow sip. The burn was sharp, but it did its job of grounding me back to reality.

"Alright," I sighed. "What's your deal, really?"

Vera remained silent for a moment before she finally spoke.

"...I don't have a home," she admitted, her voice quieter now.

I raised an eyebrow, not expecting her to actually answer seriously. "So you just wander around breaking into random houses?"

She exhaled, playing with the hem of her borrowed shirt. "Not really. This was the first time."

I leaned against the counter, watching her closely. "And why mine?"

She shrugged again, but this time it lacked the playfulness from before. "...Because I knew no one else was here."

That made me pause.

"What do you mean?"

She didn't meet my gaze. "This house. It's empty, right? No family, no guests. Just you."

I didn't respond right away. I hated how true her words were.

No one ever visited me. No one ever cared to check in.

I sighed. "That's none of your business."

She finally looked up, and for the first time, her smirk was gone. "Maybe. But we're the same, aren't we?"

I felt my fingers tighten around my glass.

"No, we're not," I muttered.

She gave me a sad smile, as if she didn't believe me. "If you say so."

I downed the rest of my drink and set the glass aside. "Fine. Stay the night. But tomorrow, you're gone."

She tilted her head. "Oh? Kicking a poor, homeless girl out into the cold? That's heartless."

I rolled my eyes. "Don't push your luck."

She grinned again. "I like you, bartender."

I froze.

"...What did you just call me?"

Her grin widened. "You're a bartender, aren't you?"

I frowned. "How do you know that?"

She leaned back, stretching lazily. "The way you mix your drinks. The precision, the way you handle the glass, the ingredients you pick. You're not just some drunk who throws things together—you actually know what you're doing."

I clicked my tongue. "Observant little shit, aren't you?"

She laughed. "Takes one to know one."

I shook my head, deciding not to question it further. "Fine. Whatever. You can crash here, but don't make yourself comfortable. I'm not running a charity."

She hummed. "Noted."

I grabbed a blanket from the other room and tossed it at her. She caught it easily, wrapping it around herself.

I turned off the lights, heading toward the stairs.

"Goodnight, bartender," she called out teasingly.

I didn't respond.

But as I lay in bed that night, staring at the ceiling, I couldn't help but wonder—who the hell was Vera?

And why did she feel so... familiar?
