Chapter 5 - The Vortex

After explaining everything to her daughter and making sure she understood it, Bai Lan made a protective formation around her hut and repetitively cautioned An Xiang from entering the formation.

Long Xiang nodded her head in understanding and promised her mother that she will not enter the formation.

After arranging food and fixing a protective talisman around her daughter's neck, she went inside the hut and took one of the core formation pills, soon the pill dissolved in her mouth and a very hot energy entered her dantian.

Long Xiang who was outside of the formation checked almost all the area of the valley to make sure there was no threat to her mother.

In Fact Long Xiang has long since developed a mental consciousness which was able to even go far into the dark misty forest because one day her and her mother have to leave this place and she was just searching for an exit.

However to her surprise she found that this little paradise was a natural occurring treasure trove which was situated inside a mountain, whose entry was the dilapidated temple and that was also the only exit of this place.

Since then every day along with kowtowing to the deity she was searching for an exit to this place in the underground temple room.

As her mother was busy cultivating, Long Xiang started exploring the valley, looking at the abundance of spiritual herbs in the paradise Long Xiang thought of her inner paradise.

Her space had soil which means she can grow a lot of herbs inside her space, this valley they will have to eventually leave and although she was sure if she wanted she can take this entire valley along with her space, but she didn't want to.

She and her mother firmly believed that this valley was not only a natural occurrence but also belonged to the temple god who gave them shelter in their hard times and hence, Long Xiang was very much attached to this valley for her this was her home.

Hence she and her mother considered this as the grace of the temple God and it belonged to him hence they never over used the herbs but only took enough for their needs.

As per Bai Lan a greedy person will never end well, and Long Xiang firmly thought that her mother was right.

However she also knows as an alchemist and healer that some of the herbs which grew here cannot be found in the outside world hence after praying to the temple god Long Xiang slowly transported some bunch of every kind of herb she could find in the valley, including the red orchid which has suddenly given birth to a new sapling, she didn't take the mature red orchid just the small sapling and replanted it in her space with her consciousness.

Her small yield was successful as to her surprise not only the spiritual plants she planted in her space not die instead she had a faint feeling that they felt more energized and full of life.

Just as she was thinking of returning towards the formation to see her mother's progress a faint blue light suddenly emerged mid air into the space in front of her, not only that but the light suddenly started spinning faster and slowly a passage emerged into the space as if someone has broken through the space.

Long Xiang was perplexed,'Can someone really open the space, isn't space a law of heaven beyond Human perception?'

She was shocked and intrigued at the same time.

She was not sure what was going to come through this vortex and then suddenly remembered how the death god has sent her soul into reincarnation and she backed away.

Right now she doesn't want to go near the vortex what if took her somewhere else and even if n Xiang was a powerful soul she doesn't want to leave her mother.

However what happened next confused her to no end, the vortex actually closed before it can open fully and what emerged out of it was a huge stone platform with electric blue lights appearing as veins on it and on top of the platform there stood an egg the size of a huge bowl the egg had the same electric blue pattern just like the stone platform and it was all black with intricate electric blue veins running through the whole dragon body.

Looking at the huge stone platform which was as big as an altar and the dragon egg, which was left here by who knows whom, Long Xiang suddenly remembered of her mother and herself.

How in order to protect her, her mother ran for life and how she was born in the underground temple room.

She suddenly felt pity for the egg, she had no idea whose egg this was but she really wanted to protect it just like her mother protected her.

Through her healing eyes she could already see that the being inside had a serpentine body and was probably a snake, however she knew it was tainted with some dark aura, probably some enemy attacked its mother and he was injured in the process, this dark aura won't take it life however even if he was born he won't live much and probably will be born weak.

Thinking how to erase this dark aura around the egg Long Xiang remembered the healing tree which was growing inside the own inner paradise and quickly with the touch of her hand brought the unusual egg along with the platform inside her space in front of the healing tree.

Slowly the healing green energy from the healing tree surrounded the platform and the egg and it started eating away the dark ominous aura around it, not only that but she could also feel that the electric blue light which was dimming every second around the egg started becoming more bright.

Thinking that the egg will be fine inside her space Long Xiang came out of her space and started walking towards the direction of the hut.

An hour earlier.

In Spiritual Dragon realm

A strong fight broke up between the dragon clan where, the dragon King was betrayed by his own subordinate, who not only tried to poison his child but also tried to sow discord amongst his people.

"Lu Shi, i always treated you like my brother how can you betray me?" came the thundering voice of a beautiful electric blue dragon just as he spoke strong tremors of lightning and thunder shook the whole dragon realm, the force was so vast that it left a vibration throughout the universe and caused earth quakes and natural calamities in different realms surrounding the dragon realm.

Lu Shen the red dragon shuddered after seeing the sheer power of the dragon king Mo Shen, he was the dragon king due to the sheer power and high bloodline of the dragon clan, not to mention there were rumors that he has comprehended the space laws.

Lu Shi was just jealous of Mo Shen, he couldn't confront him head on hence he secretly put dark poison which can make the Dragon fetus weak in the nourishing altar of the dragon prince and doomed the dragon prince existence.

The two dragons fought in mid air, although Mo Shen was powerful but currently he was holding his only child his bloodline in his hind legs he cannot leave him inside the palace because he trusted nobody.

He went to the medicine valley to ask the elder to remove the ominous poison from the dragon egg, but the elder said it was too late now and that the egg was almost on the verge of being hatched, and even if it hatched the dragon infant inside will not survive for long.

Filled with grief he was returning back to his palace when he was ambushed by Lu Shi and his subordinates, if he was alone he could have killed them all easily but with the egg in his hand it was difficult.

Hence he opened a portal midway, praying to the God of fortune that the egg will be fine and maybe by some miracle survive the fatal poison.

Before sending the egg into the vortex the dragon king spoke,"If someone harms my child may the heaven descend upon him and destroy his cultivation and cut his path of dao and if some benefactor protects my child then the heaven be witness and protect the lineage of such benefactor and bring them great fortune and luck." after he made this vow purple lightning descended from the cloud, instantly killing two of Lu Shi's subordinate.
