Chapter 12: South of the Planet, A Massive Shadow?

"I remember now!" Bai Ze shuddered all over.

The birth of a transcendent being could revive a decaying world or accelerate the development of an ordinary one.

If more transcendent beings could emerge, it might even cause the planet to evolve to a higher tier!

Planets were divided into five tiers. The higher the tier, the more immense the planet's power. Beyond that, they weren't even considered planets anymore they were called divine realms!

Bai Ze's current world was undoubtedly a Tier 0 planet the standard beginner's planet. It hadn't entered the tier differentiation stage and was nothing more than a rookie among rookies.

"Tsk tsk, who would've thought? I stumbled into creating a transcendent being by accident," Bai Ze sighed with mixed feelings.

Even as he spoke, a smile crept onto his lips.

Initially, he just intended to mess around, imposing a curse-like buff on them to test the patterns of this "Otherworldly Visitor" ability.

Who would've guessed that it would end up serving as motivation, pushing a species to evolve into a transcendent being?

But given how deteriorated the world was, even the birth of a transcendent being might be of no help.

[Early Sixth Era: You discover that the birth of a transcendent being temporarily slowed the world's decline, giving its inhabitants a brief reprieve. However, this is merely a stopgap measure and doesn't solve the root problem.]

[Mid Sixth Era: Vague voices echoed from the horizon, faintly reaching the remaining inhabitants: "Observer, south, treasure, destroy."]

Clinging to their last shred of hope, they looked up at the sky and saw a brilliant sun hanging on the horizon. The scorching rays spilled over the land. Thinking their god had finally come to save them, their faces lit up with excitement.

But soon, the sun seemed to grow larger and larger. The Cloudwing Tiger King, with its wings allowing it to fly closer, was the first to realize that it wasn't a sun it was a terrifying gamma-ray burst!

[In the end, when the gamma-ray burst struck the home planet, all living creatures perished. The world's barrier shattered. As the Cloudwing Tiger King lay dying, it faintly saw a massive shadow following behind the gamma-ray burst.]

[The shadow was hundreds of times the size of the home planet, blotting out the sky. Before it, even the sun, moon, and stars seemed as insignificant as fireflies.]

[At this point, the simulation ends!]

"..." After a moment of silence, Bai Ze was left speechless. He didn't know what to say.

That was... very sudden...

One moment, a transcendent being was born, and the world was bestowing blessings upon it. The next, everything was reduced to ashes.

Turns out all that talk about the power of friendship or love in cartoons was just lies for kids.

In the face of absolute power, wasn't it all meaningless?

Speaking of power, Bai Ze couldn't help but feel a deep fear.

The two transcendent beings he had painstakingly created couldn't even last a second under that force before being reduced to dust.

And those last few lines of text stuck with him.

"Observer, south, treasure, destroy... And what was that shadow?" Bai Ze pondered aloud.

The "Observer" undoubtedly referred to him.

Could something be interesting to the south of his planet?

Looking up at the endless starry sky, Bai Ze mused, "Well..."

With the creatures he currently had, never mind exploring deeper into the universe just breaking through the world's barrier would likely suffocate them all.

"Forget it. Let's not think about that for now," Bai Ze said with a helpless sigh.

For the next simulation, he decided not to use the "Otherworldly Visitor" ability.

This thing had its pros and cons, but over time, being discovered by alien species in the universe was inevitable.

As for whether he could contend with them?

Bai Ze had personally seen that enormous shadow, hundreds of times larger than his planet.

That was power far beyond his reach.

"Right, let's settle this simulation's rewards," Bai Ze quickly said.

[Ding! Based on the comprehensive data, you have earned 3,000 Creation Points from this simulation.]

[Please select items to retain from this simulation.]

[Cloudwing Tiger King (Transcendent Being), Giant Squid, White Ape Tribe, Dunkleosteus, Horseshoe Crab, Pale Spirit Energy, Blue Crystal...]

"System." Bai Ze focused his thoughts.

[Cloudwing Tiger King (Transcendent Being, Servant-Level, Initial Tier)]: A peerless transcendent being. After absorbing a vast amount of spirit energy, it broke through biological limits through sheer willpower and ascended to become a transcendent being. It can unfold its wings and soar through the skies.

[Subordinate species: Saber-Toothed Tiger Tribe.]

[Cost to Permanently Retain: 500 Creation Points.]

"Same price, huh? That makes things easier." Bai Ze decisively selected the permanent retention option.

Although this simulation hadn't generated as many Creation Points as the peak of the marine era, permanently retaining a transcendent being was more than worth it.

[Ding! Permanent retention is successful. Please select a temporary retention item.]

"Uh... let's temporarily retain the Giant Squid," Bai Ze said after some hesitation.

As for the other species, the White Ape Tribe did show some intelligence, but not much... Ultimately, they cooked up some nonsense about a deity, tricking other species and themselves into extinction.

Thus, the relatively mild Giant Squid became Bai Ze's top choice.

[Ding! Temporary retention is successful. Please select a temporary retention talent.]

After a moment's thought, Bai Ze said, "I won't retain any talents. End the simulation!"

[Ding! This simulation has ended.]

[Cooldown Time: 60 minutes.]

Hearing this notification, Bai Ze naturally exited his world.

He collapsed onto his bed, feeling secretly pleased.

Among creatures, there were distinctions in bloodline superiority.

For example, angels on the planet Xian Yinyue were naturally a step above other species at birth.

This phenomenon, known academically as a high-bloodline species, meant those with higher racial values.

In contrast, lower species like squids or horseshoe crabs had to evolve step by step to eventually become high-level beings.

But the resources required for such progress weren't something most creators could afford.

Thus, people often preferred to convert their world's energy into something that directly spawned high-bloodline creatures.

However, it was worth noting that no matter the bloodline, in the face of transcendent beings, they were all mere ants, easily crushed single-handedly.

Now Bai Ze had two transcendent combat units and a pile of subordinate species.

When it came time to apply to schools in a few days, he was confident he could aim for a good university!
