The Pokémon world is home to countless species, each with unique abilities and habitats.
Humans and Pokémon coexist, forming strong bonds and advancing together.
Hoenn Region – Mobai Town
In a remote part of the town, inside a modest three-story house, a blanket was kicked off the bed as a teenage boy stirred awake.
Yawning, he got up, made his way to the bathroom, brushed his teeth, and washed his face before putting on his clothes. He then stood before the mirror, straightened his attire, and smirked.
"Aoki, you are the most handsome."
This boy was Aoki, an ordinary teenager from Mobai Town. But today was far from ordinary—it was the day his journey as a Pokémon Trainer would begin.
After freshening up, Aoki prepared a simple breakfast and quietly ate at the dining table. Next to him, a hulking Pokémon crunched on a transparent cube, its metallic jaws effortlessly grinding the food.
Once finished, Aoki tidied up, donned his coat, checked himself in the mirror again, and ran a hand through his hair, deep in thought.
He was not originally from this world. Years ago, he had somehow crossed over into the Pokémon universe. Unfortunately, the parents of his current body had vanished during an expedition and never returned.
However, there was a silver lining. His parents had been well-off researchers affiliated with Professor Birch's Pokémon Laboratory, and their estate had provided him with a lump sum inheritance. This financial security allowed Aoki to qualify for the standard Pokémon Trainer Program.
Unlike the cheerful world depicted in the Pokémon anime, reality was far harsher.
To officially receive a starter Pokémon, a trainer had to pay 100,000 Pokédollars per year for ten years. Otherwise, they were only given a basic Poké Ball and left to capture whatever they could—perhaps a Caterpie or Taillow in the wild.
Caterpie, however, was rarely found in Hoenn. For someone without funds, the best option would be hunting a Taillow, but that often spelled disaster.
Fortunately, when Aoki arrived in this world, the necessary ten-year payment had already been settled. As an added advantage, his parents' affiliation with Professor Birch meant he also received a generous pension.
Yet, even with financial security, a Pokémon Trainer's journey was fraught with dangers.
Wild Pokémon could attack at any moment, and criminal organizations operated freely.
In the Hoenn Region, Team Magma and Team Aqua were the most notorious. One sought to awaken Groudon and expand the landmass, while the other aimed to revive Kyogre and flood the world.
Both organizations were filled with extremists, and every year, countless trainers had their Pokémon stolen by these villainous teams.
Becoming a successful trainer was no easy feat.
Shaking off his thoughts, Aoki refocused—today, he would receive his starter Pokémon.
Among the three options provided by Professor Birch, he had already made his choice—Torchic.
With patience and training, it would evolve into Blaziken, a powerhouse capable of Mega Evolution.
Of course, at present, Mega Evolution was an unknown phenomenon. Even in the Kalos Region, only Professor Sycamore had begun preliminary research on the topic.
Aoki smirked and reached for a Poké Ball.
"Boss Lairon, let's move."
"Laiii-roooon!"
The towering Pokémon beside him let out a deep, metallic growl before vanishing into a red beam of light, returning to its Poké Ball.
This Boss Lairon was special—it had been arranged by Aoki's parents before their disappearance.
A year ago, Professor Birch had sent over an Aron Egg as part of the arrangement. Under Aoki's care, the Pokémon had hatched and evolved rapidly, achieving incredible growth in just one year.
But that wasn't due to luck.
Aoki had a system.
Treasure Chest System
Scattered across the world were mysterious treasure chests—opening them granted unique rewards.
The system classified chests into five tiers:
• Bronze Chest
• Silver Chest
• Saffron Chest
• Diamond Chest
• King's Chest
A system map provided Aoki with clues about nearby chests.
One particular location stood out—the Sky Pillar, home to a King's Chest.
However, Aoki wasn't reckless enough to challenge Rayquaza's domain. He wasn't that desperate.
Fortunately, upon arriving in this world, Aoki had found a Diamond Chest right in his own home.
Opening it had granted him two invaluable skills:
1. Pokéblock Crafting – allowing him to create highly nutritious Pokémon food.
2. Viridian Power – a rare ability capable of healing Pokémon and communicating with them telepathically.
This ability was legendary, previously seen only in Giovanni—the boss of Team Rocket—and hinted to be connected to the Elite Four's Lance.
Over time, Aoki had discovered additional treasure chests, yielding useful items like Berries, Pokédollars, and Poké Balls. A few had contained rare Evolutionary Stones and Mega Stones, though they were scarce.
Pokémon Status Page
Aoki accessed his system menu, where three distinct tabs appeared:
• Trainer Page – Displaying his personal stats.
• Pokémon Page – Listing details of his Pokémon team.
• System Backpack – Storing collected items.
Navigating to the Pokémon Page, he examined Boss Lairon's data:
• Pokémon: Boss Lairon
• Ability: Heavy Metal
• Type: Steel/Rock
• Strength: Quasi-Elite Peak
• Potential: Elite Level
• Moveset:
• Metal Claw
• Rock Tomb
• Iron Head
• Rock Slide
• Protect
• Metal Sound
• Heavy Slam
• Dragon Claw (Egg Move)
• Earthquake (Egg Move)
Just by looking at the stats, it was clear that Boss Lairon had been meticulously trained.
And it was all thanks to Pokéblocks.
Without them, it would have taken much longer for it to evolve and reach Quasi-Elite strength in just one year.
Pokéblocks: A Secret Weapon
What made Aoki's method so unique was the Pokéblocks themselves.
In this world, Pokéblocks were an unknown concept.
Most trainers relied on basic Pokémon rations, equivalent to bland dry food. While some skilled breeders made their own Pokémon meals, even the best homemade recipes paled in comparison to Pokéblocks.
The difference in nutrition was like night and day.
With this secret weapon, Aoki had turned Boss Lairon into an exceptional powerhouse in record time.
And today marked the beginning of something even greater.
With a determined look in his eyes, Aoki stepped outside.
His Pokémon journey had officially begun.
