1. Threads (Individual Fate Manipulation)
Every living being has a Thread of Fate, an unseen cosmic string that represents their existence. Those attuned to the Weaves of Fate can perceive and manipulate these threads, allowing them to alter short-term events or personal circumstances.
🔹 Abilities of Thread Users:
• Thread Sight: See fate threads around people, sensing imminent danger or opportunities.
• Fate-Tugging: Slightly alter minor outcomes (e.g., dodging an attack by shifting probability).
• Memory Stitches: Alter someone's short-term memory by adjusting their personal thread.
🔹 Limitations:
• Can only affect individuals or small-scale events.
• Heavy use frays the user's own thread, causing fatigue or disorientation.
2. Patterns (Reality Synchronization & Temporal Adjustments)
At this level, users can manipulate Patterns—the interwoven fates of multiple people, locations, or even entire civilizations. This allows for large-scale modifications of reality, though with greater risks.
🔹 Abilities of Pattern Users:
• Echo Imprints: Experience and temporarily relive past events that are "recorded" in a location's pattern.
• Temporal Weaving: Slow down or speed up time in a localized area.
• Reality Knots: Create "fixed points" in time that resist changes, preventing events from being rewritten.
🔹 Limitations:
• Heavy strain leads to memory distortion or paradoxical side effects.
• Users cannot directly rewrite history, only influence it within its natural pattern.
3. Rewrites (Absolute Fate Manipulation & Cosmic Anomalies)
The highest level of Weave control, Rewriters can fundamentally alter reality by overriding existing fate patterns. This is the power the Weaver itself possesses—but those who attempt to wield it risk erasing themselves from existence.
🔹 Abilities of Rewrite Users:
• Paradox Creation: Introduce new events or people into reality as if they had always existed.
• Convergence Shift: Merge or separate alternate timelines, choosing the "true" reality.
• Absolute Rewrite: Completely alter a person's fate, either changing their past or erasing them entirely.
🔹 Limitations:
• Using Rewrites causes instability, attracting the Weaver's attention.
• The more one rewrites, the less anchored they become—risking becoming a "Nonexistent."
How It Ties to the Story
• Caelum Veyne is an anomaly because of the Codex Paradox. Unlike normal Weave users, he does not actively manipulate fate—his presence alone alters reality. His ability lets him glimpse future possibilities but at the cost of changing his own past.
• Lyra Aetheris seems to exist across multiple realities, appearing in different forms depending on which timeline is strongest.
• The Weaver is the ultimate enforcer of fate, seeking to correct any reality disruptions—meaning it will eventually come for Caelum.
