Chapter 3: The Berserk Vampire

Just then, in a state of extreme panic, the driver slammed his foot on the accelerator. The car shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, driven by a reckless desperation, and directly rammed towards Ye You. The driver shouted, "Is it easy for me to earn a living like this!"

Ye You had to release the door handle and quickly leaped backward, his face contorted with anger and unwillingness.

In his fury, his fangs involuntarily emerged, his eyes turned blood-red, and his sharp nails glinted with a cold light, making him look even more menacing and terrifying. He roared, "How dare you!" He looked just like a "berserk vampire".

Watching the taxi speed away taking advantage of the situation, his face grew so dark that it seemed as if water could drip from it. He clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white from the exertion, and his eyes burned with seething anger. Through gritted teeth, he said, "Damn it! You can't escape from my grasp!"

Inside the taxi, the driver panted heavily, sweat rolling down his face like beads from a broken string. He gripped the steering wheel tightly with both hands as the car sped forward in the night. The driver mumbled to himself, "What the hell is going on here? This is even more thrilling than a movie right from the start!"

As the car sped away, Ye You watched the receding tail of the vehicle, his chest heaving violently. The anger in his heart was almost consuming him. "Hmph, Yan Xin, do you think you can get away from me like this? There's nothing I, Ye You, want that I can't have!" With that, he turned and vanished into the darkness, his figure disappearing without a trace. No one knew what even more terrifying things he was plotting in that dark corner.

Inside the taxi, the driver murmured nervously, still shaken, "What the heck is all this about? Is that even a human? Could it be that I didn't check the almanac before going out today and ran into a ghost? I'm really out of luck!"

Yan Xin frowned tightly, her eyes filled with worry. Her heart was pounding wildly, like a rabbit thumping in her chest. "I wonder if he'll still come after us. What should we do next?"

Su Yue was still in a state of shock, her body shaking uncontrollably, her teeth chattering. Her voice was laced with sobs as she said, "I... I don't know. This is so terrifying. I want to go home. I want my mom!"

The driver composed himself and said, "Girls, tell me the address you're heading to first, and I'll get you there as soon as possible."

Yan Xin quickly reported the address, her voice still trembling slightly, like a leaf in the wind. "Sir, please hurry up."

The driver responded and pressed the accelerator even harder. The car raced down the road like a wild beast. At this moment, the wind howled outside the car window, and the trees on both sides of the road flashed by rapidly, as if they were also fleeing from this terrifying night.

Inside the car, there was a deathly silence, with only the heavy breathing and the rumbling of the engine intermingling, like a symphony of this dreadful night.

Yan Xin stared blankly out of the window, her mind in a whirl. What should she do? Would he still come after them? What on earth could she do? Could it be that she would be hunted for the rest of her life?

Su Yue folded her arms across her chest, her body still trembling slightly, her eyes filled with fear and helplessness.

Finally, the taxi stopped downstairs at Yan Xin's home. Yan Xin and Su Yue got out of the car in a hurry, paid the fare while thanking the driver repeatedly, and then rushed towards the staircase.

Once inside the house, Yan Xin flopped down onto the sofa, feeling as if all the strength had been drained from her body. She mumbled, "Goodness! This is even more tiring than running a marathon!"

Su Yue closed the door tightly and leaned against it, gasping for breath. The back of her clothes was already soaked with sweat.

The room was extremely quiet, with only the rapid breathing of the two of them sounding particularly clear in the stillness.

Yan Xin's gaze wandered, and the terrifying experiences of that night kept replaying in her mind. Ye You's terrifying face seemed to be right in front of her eyes.

His powerful strength, his cold eyes, and that chilling aura all filled her with deep fear. Su Yue came to her senses and said in a trembling voice, "Yan Xin, what on earth is going on? Who exactly is that person?"

Yan Xin shook her head, looking confused and terrified. "I... I don't know either. All I know is that he said his name is Ye You and that he's a vampire or something. I really don't know anything else."

The dim light overhead swayed, as if it could go out at any moment. Every sway made their hearts skip a beat.

There were some unorganized odds and ends piled up in the corner, casting distorted shadows, as if hiding countless secrets and dangers.

A painting hanging on the wall also seemed to turn eerie in this tense atmosphere. The eyes of the figures in the painting seemed to be peeking at them, sending shivers down their spines.

Yan Xin sat on the sofa, her body trembling slightly, staring blankly ahead. Involuntarily, she recalled Ye You's delicate but indifferent features, his pale face, and his furrowed brows.

And the cold touch when he bit into her neck, as well as his words, "Your blood suits me very well." All of this made Yan Xin shudder, and her body couldn't help but tremble again.

Su Yue hugged her arms tightly and scanned every corner of the room with a wary look in her eyes. She said in a trembling voice, "Yan Xin, we have to think of something. I always feel that the doors and windows aren't safe enough."

Upon hearing this, Yan Xin summoned up her energy and bit her lip. "Okay, let's take action quickly."

With great effort, they dragged the heavy wardrobe and positioned it against the door. Every tug seemed to drain all their strength. Then they pulled the curtains tightly shut, trying to block out any possible threats.

While moving the tables and chairs, Yan Xin accidentally cut her hand, and blood seeped out. But she didn't care about the pain, focusing only on strengthening this fragile line of defense.

Su Yue found some adhesive tape and sealed all the gaps in the windows. As she worked, she muttered to herself, "This should make it safer, right? Hmm... It must work."

Exhausted, the two of them finally finished all the arrangements and flopped down on the sofa, as if all their energy had been drained away.

They sat on the sofa, their bodies tense and their nerves on high alert, constantly listening for any movement around them.

However, despite their worries throughout the night, Ye You didn't show up.

The sky outside gradually brightened, and the first rays of sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains and into the room.

Yan Xin rubbed her sore eyes and said hoarsely, "He... He probably won't come, right?"

Su Yue leaned against the sofa, looking exhausted, and said weakly, "Maybe not. But we still can't let our guard down."

Even though nothing happened that night, the two of them were still filled with unease and confusion.
