"Xiao Wu, what are you doing?"
"Mother Liu, I feel like this cabinet is taking up too much space, so I thought I'd move it. Doesn't the room feel more open and easier to walk around now?"
"You're right, Xiao Wu! You're so thoughtful!"
"Xiao Wu, what kind of potted plants are these? I don't recall our company having these before."
"Mother Liu, I brought them myself! I thought the space felt too empty, so I placed a few potted plants here, along with a water feature. Just look at their lush greenery—doesn't it make the space feel much more relaxing and comfortable?"
"Now that you mention it, you're absolutely right! They add a touch of elegance!"
"Xiao Wu, what's that hanging on the wall? It looks like a copper coin!"
"Ah, Mother Liu, this is a lucky coin I got from a temple. The monks there say that hanging it on the wall will attract wealth and prosperity, making business flourish. And if the company prospers, won't our incomes rise too?"
"That makes perfect sense! Hang up a few more, then!"
And just like that, Angkor subtly altered the Feng Shui of the entire office.
Feng Shui isn't as mystical as people make it out to be. In reality, it's all about modifying the surrounding environment to influence the flow of energy, which in turn affects people's well-being.
Good Feng Shui promotes happiness, health, and efficiency, leading to success.
But bad Feng Shui?
It fosters restlessness, irritability, and physical weakness, making people more prone to illness and disaster.
And the formation Angkor set up for Lin Beifan was, naturally, a bad one—
The Five Elements Fire Formation!
"This formation harnesses the fire energy from the five elements, disrupting the body's yin and yang balance and causing an intense surge of internal heat!"
"If someone stays within this formation for too long, they'll experience dryness, restlessness, insomnia, and even blood loss. Over time, their internal organs will weaken, and their body will deteriorate!"
"And my version of the Five Elements Fire Formation is even more terrifying!"
Angkor smirked.
"I've concentrated the formation's energy directly into Lin Beifan's office, amplifying its effects several times over! And since his office is air-conditioned and colder than the rest of the building, the temperature difference will make the imbalance even worse!"
"In less than an hour, his yin and yang energy will spiral out of control. He'll overheat, and at the very least, he'll suffer a severe nosebleed!"
As he spoke, Angkor held a small, exquisite golden toad in his hand.
"Now, I just need to place this golden toad, and the formation will be complete!"
This golden toad was the formation's focal point. Wherever its mouth faced, that direction would absorb all the negative energy, intensifying the harmful effects.
Angkor carefully placed the golden toad inside one of the potted plants, aiming its mouth directly at Lin Beifan's office.
The moment he did, he felt a subtle shift in the room's energy.
A satisfied smirk crossed his lips.
"Lin Beifan, let's see if you can survive this!"
His eyes gleamed with hatred.
"But this is just the beginning. I'll make sure you suffer, piece by piece, until you lose everything! One day, you'll be completely ruined!"
Satisfied with his work, Angkor pretended to continue sweeping the floor and left as if nothing had happened.
But just then, Lin Beifan's office door swung open.
"Xiao Wu, come here!" Lin Beifan called out.
Angkor approached, broom in hand, forcing a confused expression.
"Mr. Lin, what can I do for you?"
Lin Beifan smiled. "I just noticed that my desk and cabinets are a little dusty. It's making the office feel uncomfortable. Could you clean it up for me?"
Since this was part of his job, Angkor nodded. "Of course! No problem!"
"The door is locked, so just go in and take care of it. I'll be stepping out for a bit."
With that, Lin Beifan clasped his hands behind his back and strolled away leisurely.
Angkor filled a bucket with water, grabbed a clean rag, and stepped into Lin Beifan's office.
The moment he entered, he felt it—
The shift in energy.
A subtle heat in the air, clashing against the cool blast of the air conditioner.
He took a deep breath, savoring it.
"This is it! The collision of hot and cold will disrupt the body's energy flow, causing internal chaos and blood loss!"
"I was going to give it an hour, but honestly, 40 minutes should be enough! In fact..."
He glanced at the air conditioner.
"...why not speed things up a little?"
With a wicked grin, he lowered the temperature by two more degrees.
"Let's see if you can survive this, Lin Beifan!"
Then, he began cleaning.
But he had to be quick—this formation was powerful.
If he stayed too long, he himself would start feeling the effects.
He had to finish within half an hour and get out.
Meanwhile, Lin Beifan had slipped into Liu Rumei's office.
"Mr. Lin, what brings you here?" Liu Rumei asked without even looking up from her documents.
Lin Beifan casually found a seat and smiled. "Just wanted to check in on you. See if you're busy."
"You should know by now, Mr. Lin. With a boss like you, how could I ever not be busy?" Liu Rumei huffed, throwing him a glare. "You push all the work onto me, so of course, I'm swamped!"
Lin Beifan chuckled. "I trust you more than anyone, so I can only rely on you."
Liu Rumei rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the slight smile tugging at her lips.
Lin Beifan glanced around. "You're not using the air conditioner?"
Liu Rumei glared at him again. "I thought you were a playboy? Don't you know that women have weaker constitutions and can't handle the cold?"
Lin Beifan nodded. "Good. That puts my mind at ease."
"Huh? What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing."
Lin Beifan rested his chin on his hands and watched Liu Rumei work, a sly glint in his eyes.
And silently, he made a wish.
"I wish that for the next hour, my body temperature will drop by three degrees, and I will be locked inside the room without being able to leave."
Ding! Wish granted!
Lin Beifan suddenly felt a chill wash over him.
Humans are warm-blooded creatures, and the normal body temperature ranges between 36°C and 37°C. Anything above or below that is abnormal.
A body temperature below 35°C is considered hypothermia.
Below 32°C is severe hypothermia.
Now, with his wish, his temperature had dropped to around 33–34°C. A bit chilly, but still manageable.
I wonder how Angkor is doing?
Trapped inside that formation for an hour...
A mischievous smile spread across Lin Beifan's face.
This should be interesting.
