A Breath Held in the Dark
Seo Joon's muscles tensed.
The sound had been soft, almost too quiet to notice.
But he had heard it.
Something was moving in the back of the pharmacy.
His grip tightened around the rusted pipe in his hands. He took a slow step forward, careful not to make a sound.
His heartbeat was steady, controlled. He had lived through enough to know that panic meant death.
The shadows in the far end of the room seemed deeper, swallowing the last remnants of light.
The scent of damp wood and old medicine filled his lungs.
Then—
Another sound.
A faint shuffle.
Something breathing.
