Chapter 88

Aurora stared straight into Delacroix's eyes. "There's something you're not telling me," she said with a tune of finality.

Delacroix didn't flinch, but his silence stretched a second too long. Richard would kill him whenever he saw him. He doesn't know what Tim wants.

He couldn't get into Tim's mind, no matter how hard he tried. For Aurora, his loyalty was sworn to her, and she keeps his family safe.

She didn't repeat herself. She never did.

Finally, he exhaled and set the thin file on her desk, his fingers lingering over the edge before sliding it toward her.

"It's Richard," he said. "The offshore accounts are more than I knew of. And worse, he's been laundering money through subsidiaries that technically belong to your late mother's trust. It's how he covered the hostile acquisition."

Aurora's jaw tightened, but she said nothing, eyes scanning the folder as she listened.
