"Look at this, it's our first test version we've just developed," I said, pointing at the phone screen to show Melody.
"Not bad! The interface design is..." Melody's words trailed off abruptly.
Following her gaze, I saw a familiar figure standing not far away.
Dane.
He looked even more haggard than two months ago. Sunken eye sockets, messy hair, his suit no longer as impeccable as before. He was holding a large bouquet of roses, as if he had been waiting for us here on purpose.
"Flora..." He took a step forward, his voice hoarse, "I've been looking for you for so long."
I stared at him coldly, without saying a word. My inability to feel emotions made me look like a statue, completely devoid of warmth.
"I know I was wrong," he continued, his face showing a textbook display of deep affection, "I've completely deleted the AI assistant program. Won't you come back? I promise..."
"Smack!"
Melody snatched the roses from his hand and violently threw them into the trash can.
