The safehouse felt oddly calm, the dim light of the late evening filtering through the windows. Yasan sat at the table, still clutching the device. Her mind raced. What if **The Network** wasn't just a corporate entity? What if it was a part of something much older, something far darker? The pieces of the puzzle were starting to come together, but there were so many missing fragments.
Rei paced back and forth across the room, her eyes sharp, scanning the walls as if expecting someone—or something—to emerge from the shadows. Yasan could tell she was anxious. She was waiting for something. Or someone.
"Are you sure about this?" Yasan asked quietly, her voice filled with uncertainty.
Rei stopped pacing, her face hardening with resolve. "Kira's the only person I trust to help us now. She's been in the game for years. If anyone knows how to truly stop **The Network**, it's her."
Yasan nodded slowly. She trusted Rei, but the idea of relying on someone else, especially someone she didn't know, made her uneasy. "What's her story? Why has she been trying to take **The Network** down?"
Rei's gaze softened. "Kira lost her sister to **The Network**. They took her, manipulated her, and in the end, she became a part of their system. Kira's been trying to bring down the organization ever since, but it's been a long and dangerous road."
Yasan felt her stomach twist at the thought of what Kira must have gone through. To lose a family member to something so cold, so calculating—it was a pain she could relate to, in some way. Her father had always been there for her, but what if he had been a part of this dark web, unknowingly aiding the very system she was trying to destroy? It made her stomach churn.
"Where do we find her?" Yasan asked, her voice firm.
Rei smiled faintly, but it was a smile laced with something darker. "She's always had a way of staying hidden. But I have her last known location. She'll be expecting us, so we don't have much time. **The Network** doesn't take kindly to people who cross them. Especially people like Kira."
Yasan stood up, brushing a lock of hair from her face, her heart pounding with determination. "Then let's go."
