Chapter 6: The Duel That Shouldn’t Have Happened

The sky trembled. The heavens cracked. The sheer pressure of Dao Sovereign Hei Wu's aura caused the surrounding clouds to shatter into mist, exposing the vast sky beneath them.

The Supreme Sect's flying boat shook violently, nearly throwing some disciples off.

Xiao Yan barely managed to stabilize himself, his face pale. "Master… this isn't good. Hei Wu isn't just any Dao Sovereign… he's known as the Black Sky Tyrant, feared for annihilating entire sects!"

Lin Feng sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Wonderful. Just what I needed—another dramatic guy trying to kill me."

Hei Wu floated above them, arms crossed, his deep black robes flowing like an endless abyss. His gaze locked onto Lin Feng, carrying a weight that could crush mountains.

"Supreme Ancestor," he said, his voice booming across the sky, "you have upset the balance of the cultivation world."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "Have I?"

Hei Wu's aura flared. "In a single moment, you obliterated Bai Zhi. A prodigy ranked among the Rising Dragon List… gone without effort. You have defied common sense."

Lin Feng shrugged. "I didn't even do anything."

Hei Wu's gaze narrowed. "Exactly. That is what terrifies me."

Silence.

The Supreme Sect's disciples froze.

Xiao Yan clenched his fists. "Master, we cannot back down from this challenge!"

Lin Feng looked at him, deadpan. "I don't remember accepting any challenge."

But Hei Wu had already raised his hand, summoning a vast cosmic energy that swirled like a black hole above his palm.

"This is the Sky-Breaking Oblivion Fist—an attack that has erased countless geniuses before you. If you truly are the Supreme Ancestor, then withstand this."

Lin Feng sighed. "Can't we just talk this out?"

Hei Wu's eyes flashed with killing intent.

"Then die."

BOOM!

A roaring vortex of destruction erupted from Hei Wu's palm, expanding outward with enough force to shatter mountains and obliterate continents.

The attack tore through space itself, distorting reality as it barreled straight toward Lin Feng.

Xiao Yan and the others screamed.

"Master!!"

But Lin Feng… just stood there.

He didn't move. He didn't react.

Because he didn't need to.

The moment the Sky-Breaking Oblivion Fist touched Lin Feng—

It ceased to exist.

No explosion. No impact. No resistance.

The entire attack was erased from reality.

Hei Wu's eyes widened in horror. "What—?!"

The Supreme Sect disciples stared in disbelief.

"Master didn't even lift a finger…!"

"It wasn't even blocked… it just vanished!"

Hei Wu staggered backward, his entire body trembling.

Lin Feng scratched his head. "I didn't even do anything, though?"

[Supreme Ancestor System Passive Ability Activated: Any attack directed at the host will be erased from existence.]

Hei Wu's breathing became ragged. "…This is impossible."

Lin Feng sighed. "Well, you tried. Can we leave now?"

But Hei Wu suddenly clutched his head, his eyes filled with pure existential dread.

"This doesn't make sense…!" His voice shook. "Even a Dao Sovereign's ultimate attack should leave some kind of impact! But it was as if my power never existed!"

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, that's kinda your problem, isn't it?"

Hei Wu stumbled backward, his once indomitable presence crumbling. "No… No, this isn't a battle I can win."

Then—without another word—he fled.

One of the three known Dao Sovereigns in the world fled without fighting.

The Supreme Sect disciples exploded into cheers.

"Master didn't even need to fight!"

"True strength… is beyond action!"

"Master has already reached a level where attacks don't even qualify to be attacks!"

Lin Feng let out a long sigh.

This was getting out of hand.

Meanwhile, at the Grand Sect Assembly Venue…

In the floating palace of the Seven Star Sect, the sect masters and supreme elders sat in a vast, circular hall.

The atmosphere was tense.

A messenger cultivator burst into the room, falling to his knees. "R-Report! Dao Sovereign Hei Wu… has retreated!"

The supreme elders stirred.

"What?!"

"Hei Wu, the Black Sky Tyrant, fled?"

A gray-haired elder slammed his palm against the table. "Impossible! The Supreme Ancestor must have used some kind of forbidden technique!"

Another elder's expression was grim. "No. There were no signs of battle. No energy fluctuations. It was as if Hei Wu's very attack was… erased."

Silence.

The Seven Star Supreme, the sect's most powerful figure, opened his ancient eyes.

A deep, almost divine voice echoed in the chamber.

"…We are dealing with something far beyond our understanding."

Back to Lin Feng & the Supreme Sect Delegation

The flying boat sailed smoothly through the sky once more.

Lin Feng leaned against the railing, sipping some tea.

Xiao Yan, however, was still trembling with excitement.

"Master… that was incredible!"

Lin Feng sighed. "I literally did nothing."

"Exactly! That is what makes it so terrifying!" Xiao Yan's eyes burned with fanatical admiration.

Lin Feng stared at him.

"…You worry me."

Suddenly, Wu Tao, the alchemist, ran up, pale-faced.

"Master! I just overheard something disturbing from the communication talisman!"

Lin Feng took another sip of tea. "Let me guess. The Seven Star Sect is now plotting something stupid?"

Wu Tao swallowed. "They think you are… beyond Dao Sovereign. They believe you are a being from an unknown realm!"

Lin Feng choked on his tea.

"…Excuse me?"

Xiao Yan clenched his fists. "This is it, Master. The world is beginning to recognize your supremacy!"

Lin Feng groaned.

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"
