Evelyn had been favored by Lucian for a long time. But the moment she used her identity as Theo's woman to lure out Theo's men, allowing Lucian to wipe them out in one fell swoop, she instantly fell out of favor.
"Lucian, was everything you told me a lie?" Evelyn sobbed as she clung to him. "You promised you would love me forever! I only helped you take down Theo and his men because I believed you!"
This time, Lucian didn't bother to comfort her. Instead, he shoved her to the ground in disgust.
"How could I ever love Theo's woman? The only reason I said I loved you was because you were useful to me. You should be grateful I'm letting you live instead of tossing you into the ocean to feed the sharks."
Lucian truly was a terrifying man. Luckily, I had already been hurt by him before I could fall for him completely.
"Lucian, please, don't throw me out. Let me stay by your side—I'll do anything! I'll be your maid if that's what it takes!" Evelyn pleaded desperately, but Lucian ignored her and waved for his men to drag her out.
Poor Evelyn was utterly devastated. She glared at me with jealousy before suddenly letting out a mocking laugh.
"Sienna, don't get too full of yourself."
What the hell? Where did she get the idea that I was feeling smug?
Then, in a loud voice, she declared, "I heard you've been bullied ever since you got Damian killed."
Lucian's expression instantly darkened. He snapped at his men, "What are you waiting for? Throw her out!"
"Lucian, are you afraid of me exposing the truth? Well, I'm going to say it anyway!" Evelyn laughed hysterically before her laughter turned into sobs. "You knew all along that Damian was an undercover spy sent by Theo. But to avoid alerting him, you manipulated Sienna into killing Damian and pinned his death on her. You're so damn smart, Lucian—smart and utterly ruthless."
...
From that day on, I once again became the only woman by Lucian's side. He remained cold toward me during the day, but at night, he would hold me tightly, whispering for me to wait just a little longer—once he had eliminated all obstacles, he would marry me.
But my heart no longer wavered for him.
All I wanted was to wait for the right moment, have him get my father out of prison, and then leave—return to my country and never see him again.
But in the end, he wasn't even the chairman's son.
Three years of suffering… all for nothing.
* * *
After being thrown out of Lucian's mansion, I rubbed my sore wrist and walked home, silently calculating my next move. Lucian probably wouldn't want to see me for a while, which meant I had the perfect opportunity to seduce the real chairman's son, Noah Sterling. But if Lucian found out about my betrayal…
It didn't matter. As long as I moved fast enough, got Noah on my side, and had him save my father, I could return to my country. No matter how powerful Lucian was, he wouldn't be able to control what happened in another country, right?
However, when I stepped into my apartment and saw the naked man in front of me, chained up and helpless, I realized I had underestimated the situation.
"Sienna, is this how you treat your boss?" Noah roared.
"Sorry, boss. I'll unlock the chains for you right away." I inserted the key into the lock, but before I could turn it, he shouted again.
"You're fired! Immediately!"
So, with a smooth motion, I locked him back up.
To be honest, since coming to Blacktown, Noah had helped me the most. When I was detained at the police station, alone and unfamiliar with everything, he was the one who took me in. He knew I wasn't his fiancée, yet he still patiently handled all the paperwork for me.
Wanting to extend my stay in Australia, I decided to switch from a tourist visa to a work visa. I applied to countless companies, but every single one rejected me. As my tourist visa was about to expire, I suddenly remembered that Noah was a regional director at Nexora Enterprises. I went to him, pleading for a job—any job that would allow me to secure a work visa. And he actually gave me a position as his secretary.
Noah had always been good to me.
Until yesterday.
"Sienna," he called me into his office, "you've been freeloading for three years. I hired you as my secretary, but you're never around. If this continues, I'll have no choice but to fire you."
I panicked. Things were just about to work out with Lucian—I couldn't afford to be deported now.
"Boss," I forced myself to stay calm, "let me take you out for dinner tonight. We can talk things through properly."
I ordered the strongest drinks on the menu. Under my persuasion, Noah drank glass after glass until he was completely unconscious. Then, I brought him back to my apartment and chained him to my bed, thinking I'd stall for time until I successfully seduced Lucian.
If I had known he was actually the chairman's son, I would never have done this.
But there was no turning back now.
What should I do? My mind raced for a solution. Got it!
I suddenly covered my face and began to sob.
"Boss, do you really not remember what you did to me last night?"
Noah froze. "Last night… I drank too much, and then… then…"
"And then you took off all your clothes… and then you… you…" I cried even harder. "Oh my God, I've never even had a boyfriend before, and now I've been…"
Actually, I was the one who stripped him—but it wasn't on purpose. He had vomited all over himself, and I had no choice but to take off his clothes and throw them away.
Thinking about this, I couldn't help but sneak a glance at his well-defined chest muscles. Ah… Last night, while he was completely unconscious, I took the opportunity to feel them a few times. The texture was amazing. I really wanted to touch them again… No! I had to resist the temptation.
Noah still looked utterly confused.
"You don't believe me?" I pointed to the red marks on my wrist, then to the love bites Lucian had left on my neck. "These are all marks you left on me last night. If you still don't believe me, I can show you more."
I pretended to pull off my shirt, and Noah immediately stopped me. "No need! I believe you. This… this was my fault. I owe you. I'll make it up to you. But can you at least unlock the chains first?"
"No way. If I unlock them, who knows if you'll—"
"I won't." Noah's face was full of guilt. "I was drunk last night. But now I'm sober, and I wouldn't do that."
"Then... are you still going to fire me?" I asked.
"Of course not."
Oh yeah—problem solved.
