After devouring the primal crystal, the Xenomorph larva erupted in a blaze of azure light. The radiance coalesced into a strange, gelatinous blue coating that encased its body.
"Is it… molting?" Chu Xun recalled scenes from the Alien films. The creatures required a shedding phase to reach maturity. The only question was: How long would this take? Lingering here risked attracting predators.
As if on cue, three zombies shambled from the woods, drawn by the scent of blood. While no threat to Chu Xun now, their arrival signaled danger. In the wastelands, staying still meant death.
Thud!
A muffled tearing sound cut through the air. A diamond-shaped spike—razor-sharp and gleaming like polished obsidian—pierced the blue cocoon.
"The tail…" Chu Xun murmured, recognizing the iconic weapon.
The spike lengthened, revealing segmented armor plating. Clawed hands shredded the remaining casing, and with a guttural hiss, the Xenomorph emerged in its full, nightmarish glory.
Every inch a perfect predator: dagger-like claws, a spear-tipped tail, serrated teeth, and a retractable inner jaw nested within its mouth. Its sleek exoskeleton glistened oil-black, impervious even to high-caliber rounds. This was evolution distilled into a killing machine—a creature that had haunted humanity's nightmares for centuries, now reborn into reality.
"Magnificent…" Chu Xun breathed. Yet one detail gave him pause. At barely a meter long, it seemed diminutive compared to the two-meter titans from the films. Could this compact version match its fictional terror?
The Xenomorph answered instantly.
Whoosh!
Without awaiting orders, it lunged. Powerful leg muscles launched it like a black comet at the nearest zombie. Mid-leap, its inner jaw snapped forward with hydraulic force, punching through the zombie's skull. Brains and black blood geysered outward.
The remaining two zombies lurched toward it.
Slash!
The Xenomorph's tail whipped upward, impaling one through the chest. Simultaneously, its claws eviscerated the other, shredding rotten organs. Yet the headless corpses kept moving—until the creature adapted.
Crack!
With a furious screech, it wrenched its tail free, splitting the first zombie vertically from groin to collarbone. Guts rained down as it pounced on the last foe, inner jaw piercing its skull.
Ten seconds. Three kills.
"Holy shit…" Chu Xun gaped.
Even more astonishing: the Xenomorph began devouring the corpses, acidic drool sizzling as it consumed flesh, bone, and all. Within moments, only stains remained.
"Wait—is it… growing?" Chu Xun swore the creature's frame had expanded slightly. A one-meter Xenomorph was lethal enough. A two-meter version would be apocalyptic.
His excitement flared—until gunfire erupted in the distance.
