Chapter 40: Building the Future

Before his parents' accident, Jiang Han had been reckless with money—spending lavishly on bars and women, treating wealth as if it were endless.

But now, he was an entirely different person.

Jiang Zhiyu found herself unable to recognize this version of him.

She mentally calculated—Jiang Han had already spent 15 million on equity acquisition, and now, with over 50 million in liquid cash, his total capital exceeded 65 million.

Ordinary investors could take years to grow their funds from 5 million to 60 million through stocks.

But Jiang Han had done it in mere days.

It was simply unbelievable.

"Why don't I remember you being this talented in stock trading?" Jiang Zhiyu asked, still in shock.

Jiang Han smirked. "There's a lot you don't know about me. You always thought I was useless."

Jiang Zhiyu gave a wry smile, lowering her head to focus on the hotpot.

Jiang Han looked at her thin face, memories of his past life flooding his mind.

In his previous life, he had been an irresponsible fool, leaving Jiang Zhiyu to bear all the burden.

But this time, he would carry the weight for her.

Determination flashed in his eyes. "Sister, don't worry. As long as I'm here, the company will not collapse."

Jiang Zhiyu was momentarily stunned.

She had never seen Jiang Han so resolute before.

He had changed.

Though 50 million wasn't enough to completely resolve Huaifeng's financial crisis, Jiang Han had grown stronger and more responsible.

She could only imagine how happy their adoptive parents would be if they were still around…

---

A few days later, Jiang Han arrived at an office building in Pudong District, Modu.

Su Qingyi, dressed in a dark blue business suit under her down jacket, had tied her hair into a neat bun. A touch of light makeup gave her a professional and polished look.

"Wow, why are you so stunning today?" Jiang Han teased, giving her an appreciative glance.

Su Qingyi's fair skin looked even more radiant under the soft lighting.

She pouted. "I represent the company's image now. I can't just dress like a student anymore."

Then, she handed Jiang Han a file and said, "I've completed all the company's registration procedures. Our office is on the 12th floor of this building."

Soon, they arrived at the newly established Huaifeng Magic Capital Branch.

At the reception desk, bold golden letters displayed the company's name.

Jiang Han glanced around the office space. Though it wasn't large, it was clean and modern—perfect for a startup.

"This is a prime location," Su Qingyi explained. "It's close to the Zhongxin Stock Exchange and just ten minutes from your home.

"The space is compact, but the interior has a high-end feel. The rent is 200,000 yuan per year."

Jiang Han nodded in satisfaction. "Good work."

In the early stages, keeping expenses low was key. Once the company expanded, he would buy an entire office building in the central business district.

Just then, Su Qingyi checked her watch.

"The Magic City Gymnasium is holding a spring recruitment fair today. I've already signed up. Do you want to come with me?"

Since it was Saturday and the stock market was closed, Jiang Han agreed.

---

They soon arrived at the Modu Gymnasium, which was packed despite it being just 8 AM.

"Why are there so many people?" Jiang Han asked, surprised by the crowd.

Su Qingyi explained, "After the Lunar New Year, many professionals look for new job opportunities. This fair attracts major companies, state-owned enterprises, and international firms—so it's always busy."

She handed Jiang Han a blue badge. "We're in the service industry section. Follow me."

Their designated booth was simple—two tables, a few plastic chairs, and a roll-up banner.

Jiang Han sat down and got straight to business.

"We need to hire:

2 employees for the Finance Department

4 employees for Administration & HR

50 employees for the Marketing Department

5 employees for Logistics

1 driver"

Su Qingyi jotted down notes.

"All employees except the driver must have a bachelor's degree or higher," Jiang Han added. "Marketing hires should come from top universities (985 or 211 schools). If a candidate has potential, fresh graduates are fine too."

Su Qingyi frowned.

It was the year 2000. Forget 985 and 211 graduates, even regular college graduates might not want to work for a newly founded company.

"Jiang Han… isn't this requirement too high?" she hesitated.

Jiang Han remained firm.

"Just follow what I said. After probation, the Marketing Department employees will earn over 3,000 yuan per month."

Su Qingyi sighed but nodded. "Alright."

As she finished organizing their recruitment materials, her gaze shifted to the booth next door.

It belonged to a company called "Dai Er."

Seven or eight well-dressed employees were busily interacting with candidates. Their booth was four to five times larger than Huaifeng's and showcased electronic products on the tables.

Su Qingyi couldn't hide her envy.

"This company must be big, right?"

Jiang Han glanced at the name.

"It's a Fortune 500 company that manufactures computers," he said.

Dai Er (Dell) was founded in 1984 and had since expanded into data storage and other tech businesses.

Hearing this, Su Qingyi's expression darkened.

"We're competing against a Fortune 500 company. Can we even attract applicants?"

Jiang Han smirked.

"Don't worry. The real challenge isn't hiring employees—it's keeping the best ones."
