Grew up in a loving family or at least that's what I used to think. My name's Elise. I was born and raised in Tokyo ......that was before we moved to Manilla where all hell broke loose. My parents were killed I mean slaughtered to be specific. I’ve had to live with the pain of grief in my heart till date. But that's not the worst part yet. I later came to realize that what happened that day ......my parents’ death .... it all suddenly feels like an illusion ...a dream. My life has been a lie .... I've wasted lots of energy chasing a lie. I swear I saw my mum bleeding to death.... her lifeless body .... but here she is......alive. I was shipped to the Caribbean years ago.......raped, insulted, abused ever since but what kept me driving .... is to avenge for my family and the hope that one day I’ll find my brother Kalton who was snapped out of my life before I was shipped .... yet here he was with my mum, enjoying life to the fullest.... fuck!!! I have no tears left .... all I've been left with is pain and lots of it. My story may seem simple but trust me I'm not simple and definitely I'm not boring.

ESCLAVIZADO

We were forced into a van parked outside our house. I turned around to look at my parents' corpses one last time before we were driven off to god knows where... There were other hostages when we arrived, emaciated is the right word to describe them, fighting for bread. I was also given a piece of Moulden bread. We were at an abandoned station filled with rusty containers.

I looked around the place. Most hostages were young, pregnant women children and few males. My attackers now kidnappers were talking harshly.... indiscretively I couldn't quite hear well but caught on Kalton …. they were talking about my brother and possibly me. suddenly my six sense told me someone's watching me. I looked around the place but couldn't see anybody staring. My intuition is always right but maybe not this time. I couldn't shake the feeling of. On the far east there were two Nissan patrols, I couldn't see through the overly tinted windows but I swear someone's watching me from behind those windows.

[claps] "Alright, everyone get into the containers ...you'll be shipped to your freedom"

'Kalton 'I whispered turning around to hold his hand but he wasn't there….."kalton!" I looked for him, he was nowhere.

That's him. I turned to the direction of the screams. There he was, mouth folded, his hands restrained with teary eyes ...No …. I couldn't let anything happen to him. he was the only family I was left with.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing to my brother!!" I asked approaching the men

all guns were pointed to me ... one wrong move and I'm dead. I couldn't care less anyway

"I asked you what are doing to my brother!!"

"He's coming with me "I turned around to see a man in casual with two guards behind him

"yeah over your dead body" [Gun cocks]

The guy raised his hand to stop the men. He walked towards me majestically and leaned to my eye level.

"If you start a fight now I'm happy to watch but we both know you'll lose …. From what I've heard you're supposed to be smarter than that "

"My brother. where are you taking him"

He looked at me as if scanning deep into my soul. All I could see was his noticeable scar across his cheek "Call me Ren from the black lotus…. piece of advice …save your energy your gonna need it "

He motioned his men to take Kalton. He turned around walking towards the parked cars

"you're gonna survive this, all you need is brains I'll be waiting for you Elise"

He opened the back door and held it. I watched my small brother being taken away .....forced into the back of the car. Ren turned around, his right hand on his left sleeve, to look at me before he entered the car and the guard behind closed his door

I watched the two vehicles leave. He was right I could've lost shamelessly. I chose to maintain my dignity. I promise I will come back for you Kalton I swear. Something about him made me trust him. Idk why but I know my brother is safe with him. Question is what did he mean when he said he'll be waiting for me?
